2008-08-13-3.jpgCAMP TAJI, Iraq – Soldiers from the Automotive Platoon, Maintenance Company, 225th Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team “Warrior,” 25th Infantry Division, Multi-National Division – Baghdad, kicked off the first of several vehicle maintenance classes, Aug. 9, 2008.

The classes provided an opportunity for the MND-B Soldiers to share their maintenance knowledge with Iraqi army soldiers from the 34th, 36th and 37th Logistics Battalions, 9th Iraqi Army Logistics Division, and an engineer company.

The course was created to not only educate the Soldiers on vehicle maintenance but to continue the “train the trainer” initiative, where MND-B. Soldiers train Iraqi Soldiers and then test them on their ability to train their fellow soldiers.

The maintenance course will last four weeks and includes training on everything from suspension to engine replacement on the high mobility multi-purpose wheeled vehicle.

“I hope you learn from this training and become the best,” said Col. Emad Hassan, commander of 9th IA Log. Div., as the class began. “I really appreciate everyone that has made this happen.”

Each unit selected five of their most proficient mechanics to send to the class, and they were eager to learn as well as participate in the training exercises.

“We are very happy to be doing this training,” said Cpl. Rasule Hassan. “We came here to learn and hopefully we can successfully teach all this information to the other soldiers.”
