The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Spc. Jason C. Kazarick, 30, of Oakmont, Pa., died April 7 in Sadr City, Iraq, when enemy forces attacked using a rocket propelled grenade. He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment, Vilseck, Germany.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and fellow soldiers.
Kaz, bro, I only just got to know you during this deployment. Our paths didn't cross much within the company until we got to Iraq. Damn you were a funny guy. I loved shooting the sh*t with you. That's usually all you and I did when we talked was laugh. I only wish now that we were closer. I got to know enough about you to know that you and I could have been good friends. Your sarcasim always brought a smile or a laugh. I will always remember that ongoing game we had. Booger, WaWa and I know what I am talking about. You were pretty good at that game man. Every memory of you is going to bring a laugh for me. I am going to miss you a lot.
My thoughts and prayers are with your wife and Family. You were a superb soldier. Rest in peace my friend.
My son,Booger, spoken of in Bryan's comments, is devastated by the loss of your son. He was an obvious wonderful man of whom you must be proud. I pray for your comfort in this time and Thank You for the sacrifice Kaz, I believe I met you in Vilseck last year and am deeply saddened too. Peace be with your Family.
Steve
Kaz, brother. Cant say enough about you. Would have loved to do Americanos with you one more time. I had a lot of good times with you and your sarcastic ass, those are all memories that I will cherish for a lifetime now. This aint news you want to hear while your home on R&R, away from your boys. When I left I knew things were heating up, but I prayed that something like this wouldnt happen. I know your in a better place now, up there playing armchair quarterback watching the rest of us. Just know that you were one of the best damn soldiers I knew. Your smart ass would always have somrthing to say, but you got the job done better than most. I dont care what anyone says, I witnessed you as one bad ass sniper back in Graf and thats were alot of my memories are from. I miss those days man but the days that we had will never be forgotten. Just know that we love ya and we're all gonna miss the hell out of you man. Rest in peace brother.
KAZ, MAN , I THANK GOD FOR THE SHORT TIME I KNEW YOU. FROM THE TIME WE STARTED I COULD TELL YOU WERE A HELLA OF A GUY. MY CONDOLENCES TO YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS, I'M SURE THAT IF I MISS YOU FROM A TRIP TO HOHANSFELD AND A FEW COLD DAYS AT THE RANGE THEIR LOSE IS GREATER. GOD BLESS YOU, YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
