CPL Steven I. Candelo

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Cpl. Steven I. Candelo, 20, of Houston, died March 26 in Baghdad, when his vehicle was struck by a rocket propelled grenade. He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment, Vilseck, Germany.

We would like to offer our sincere condolences to his family, friends and fellow soldiers.

Delo, you have touched so many lives in such a short time. You will be deeply missed, I know your guys have a real angel watching over them now. Know that you will never be forgotten, you will live on through your brothers that were standing to your left and your right. My thoughts and prayers are with your brothers in arms, and with your family. You will live on through everybody that had the pleasure of knowning you. May you rest in peace and watch over everybody that you touched. God be with you and your brothers and most of all your Family.

I want to give from the bottom of my heart the love and respect to all the men and women who are serving our country and to those who unfortunately have past away. I attended the same high he did through I really did not know him personally I knew who he was.
