Hey Gumby, I know the unit hasn't had time to slow down and grieve yet, but know that losing you has impacted us hard. You have been with the soldiers of this unit for 6 or more years now from Fort Lewis to Germany. We fought together last time from Fallujah, Mosul, Tal Afar to Ramadah and this time in Bahgdad. You were a great guys with an awesome personality and sense of humor. I thank you for all the times you and your wife hooked me up with those egg rolls that I love. You were only days away from going on leave and I was looking forward to heading back to Germany with you. It hurts to know you wont be going with me now. My prayers are with your wife and kids. You are a hero and a friend and We will never forget you bro. Thanks for all that you did.
Our thoughts and prayers with the family, friends and fellows soldiers of SSG Gamboa. May God give you peace in this time of sorrow. Rest in peace "hero"
Godspeed!
To the family, friends and fellow soldiers working alongside SSG Joseph Gamboa I pray for your strength without Joseph, until you meet again in a much nicer place. SSG Gamboa I thank you for your willingness to go forth and help complete strangers! John 15:13 "there is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends".
You are a HERO and will always be remembered!
Respectfully,
