What can words convey? I am so very sorry for your great and costly sacrifice. As a mother of a brother soldier; I have been thinking and praying for your family. This may sound stupid; but I have a group of other stryker moms and family members quilting. Know this; some day I will hold my grandchild in this quilt; the quilt that bears your son's name; and tell my grandchild about all that was laid at the altar. I am so very, very, sorry for your family. But I will do my best to let his name, somewhat live on. May God bless your family at this time and the days to come.

Our deepest sympathy and prayers to the family of Sgt. Martin. We share in your grief as we also lost our beloved hero, Sgt Christopher Sanders, January 9th, 2008. It is a pain we all hope to never experience. Our children will forever be American Heroes and we will never let their sacrifices be forgotten. With shared grief, Kelly and Marie Sanders

Tim Martin was a wonderful person and a fantastic friend. He is dearly missed.
I had the pleasure of meeting Tim when we were both biology majors at Saint Mary's College in Moraga, CA. We ended up taking almost every science course together and studied for nearly every test together. I spent more waking hours with him than anyone else while in college.
He was an extremely intelligent man with a heart of gold. Always with a smile, Tim made friends wherever he went. We took a Natural History course in New Zealand together. During this trip he was the most enthusiastic, courageous member of our group. Whether we were bungee jumping or climbing a glacier, Tim was ready and willing to take on the challenge. He loved learning and inspired those around him to share in his passion. He played a large part in me deciding to become a teacher. The world is a colder, darker place without Tim Martin in it.

Tim was a great man with a big heart and a bright smile! I will always remember the time I spent with him and several other students from Saint Mary's College of California in our month long trip to New Zealand in January 2004.
I will never forget you Tim! May you rest in peace...
