To the familiy and friends of SSG Sean M. Gaul, I'm at a loss for words at the news of the death of this heroic young man. I lost my son in September of last year. His name was SGT Robert T. Ayres III. He was also with the 3/2 from Vilseck. Robert had been transferred from "A" Co to "G" Co. He had been best friends with SGT Chris Sanders.

Please take comfort in my experience with Roberts passing. I've known every second that my son is in a good place and that he's proud of the sacrifice he made for his country.

At Roberts funeral, I knew that this was an Honor that my son earned. In spite of my sorrow for loosing him, I could never for one minute begrudge him his well deserved pride for dying for Our Country. Regardless of the sadness it brings to the rest of us, I believe this is the manner of passing that a Warrior longs for. Our children have honored us highly by making us the Parents of American Heroes.

God Bless you. Please don't hesitate to contact me if there is anything I can do for you

To family, friends and soldiers working along side SSG Sean Gaul, I pray God gives you strength to face each day, until you meet Sean again. SSG Gaul, I thank you for volunteering to keep complete strangers safe. John 15:13 there is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends.
You will always be remembered!
Sincere respect and gratitude,
Linda

Once again, God has taken some very special HEROS to join His Army. Know that your soldier is in a far better place, and can now watch and protect those fellow soldiers who remain on earth to finish this mission. Your entire Stryker Family shares your loss, and we will continue to pray for your strength. SSG Gaul's sacrifice will never be forgotten, and we honor him as our HERO.

To the family, friends , and fellow soldiers of
SSG Sean M. Gault , we send our heartfelt condolences. Our nephew, SFC Matthew Pionk, was also killed in the explosion. Matt served with courageous and truly heroic men. "They were the best of the best" is what we keep hearing from fellow soldiers.....true American heroes. The families of all of these soldiers are also heroes as they have to learn to live without their son, brother, or father. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Proud Stryker Aunt,
Laurie

SSG Gaul was with me at Ranger School. In the span of several weeks he made a great impression on me. His light-heartedness always lifted my spirit. He will be missed.

Our deepest sympathy and prayers to the family of SSG Gaul We share in your grief as we also lost our beloved hero, Sgt Christopher Sanders, January 9th, 2008. It is a pain we all hope to never experience. Our children will forever be American Heroes and we will never let their sacrifices be forgotten. With shared grief, Kelly and Marie Sanders
