SPC Randy W. Pickering

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Spc. Randy W. Pickering, 31, of Bovey, Minn., died Dec. 9 in Baghdad, Iraq, of injuries sustained in a non-combat related incident. He was assigned to the Regimental Support Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment, 1st Armored Division, Vilseck, Germany.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and fellow soldiers.

Our God is a mighty God, and He has a purpose for all things. SPC Randy Pickering is a part of God's larger plan and so he has been called home. May his family, friends and brothers in arms find comfort in many good memories of time spent with him, and may God and His Angels bring peace and strength to all who mourn his passing. Know that you do not walk alone in this journey. We will keep SPC Pickering and his loved ones in our hearts and prayers.
