It is with the deepest sadness that I offer my condolences upon learning of the loss of your Hero, who paid the ultimate price in the pursuit of Freedom for the people of Iraq, and the defense of his brothers and our grateful nation. We pray that God is preparing for a very special mission, for He has called home another one of our HEROS. 2LT Peter Burks has given all that others might live in freedom. His sacrifice will be remembered for a lifetime. To his family, friends and brothers in arms, know that you do not mourn alone. LT Burks is a real American Hero. He truly deserves a "Thank You LT" for his ultimate sacrifice.

"Evil flourishes when good men do nothing." LT Burk answered the call and gave his life in the fight against evil. I extend my utmost thanks and gratitude to his family in their time of sorrow and rememberance.

I have a lot to be Thankful for on this day of Thanksgiving! As I await my son's return from Iraq on leave this Sunday, I pray for your son's return home! My son is also in 3/2 SCR, H Company and every loss is difficult for all of us in the Stryker Family!
