The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Sgt. Christopher R. Kruse, 23, of Emporia, Kan., died Nov. 13 in Mukhisa, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated during dismounted combat operations. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, Wash.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and fellow soldiers.
My deepest sympathy to the family and fellow Soldiers of Sgt Kruse. We have lost another American Hero. He paid the ultimate sacrifice for all of us to keep us safe. He will not be forgotten.
To the family, friends and fellow soldiers working with SGT Christopher Kruse, may God give you the necessary strength for each and every day. Please know that Christopher will always be remembered! SGT Kruse volunteered to protect complete strangers. He is a Hero! SGT Kruse rest in peace until you meet your loved ones again.
