The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Spc. Jason N. Marchand, 26, of Greenwood, W. Va., died Oct. 5 in Baghdad of wounds sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his unit during combat operations. Marchand was assigned to the 3rd Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment, in Vilseck, Germany.
We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the loved ones he leaves behind.
I want to offer my thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of SPC Jason N. Marchand. He is a true hero and will NEVER be forgotten. I pray the God help his family and friends through this very painfull time. R.I.P SPC Jason N. Marchand. You will NEVER be forgotten and I will be forever greatful for the sacrifice this man made to keep us all free. God Bless.
