SPC Zachary A. Grass

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Spc. Zachary A. Grass, 22, of Beach City, Ohio., died June 16 in Rashidiyah, Iraq, of wounds suffered when the vehicle he was in struck an improvised explosive device. Grass was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 12th Field Artillery Regiment, 4th Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team), Ft. Lewis, Wash.

All of us here at Strykernews would like to offer our sincere condolences to his family, friends and fellow soldiers.
