Recent feedback from visitors has made it clear that we haven't done a good job of explaining how our commenting system works. In order to prevent spammers from submitting bogus comments advertising their websites we require people to register with an independent, third-party authentication service called TypeKey.
It's free, and once you have registered all you need to do is enter your username in order to comment on any entry here. If you have cookies enabled on your browser the system will remember you, and you likely will only need to log in the first time you leave a comment.
Additionally, this authentication system is completely separate from our forum registration system, which also requires registration/username/password. If you are a registered forum member you still need to sign up with TypeKey to comment on the homepage, and vice versa.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Comments For "Clarification On Comment Authentication":
The registration process was relatively painless and took very little time to completion and logging in. It's worth the time to ensure spammers are kept out.
