SPC William J. Crouch

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Spc. William J. Crouch, 21, of Zachary, La., died June 2 in Al Hadid, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. Crouch was assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, Wash.

My heart goes out to you at this great time of need. No words are ever enough when you lose a son at such a young age. William is a true American hero and I thank him for his service. You are in my prayers as well as your other son who is still serving in Iraq. God bless you.

May God grant your family peace during this time. It is always so sad when we lose another brave soldier. My son is in the 4/2 Stryker Brigade. Although his work continues, SPC Couch's will not be forgotten, nor will his sacrifice.
