There's an old hymn that reads, "No tears in Heaven, no sorrows given, all will be glory in that Land". Another hymn answers, "This world is not my home, I'm just a passing through, my treasures are laid up, somewhere beyond the blue". This brave young servant of our dear nation paid the greatest price that any man can give, so that we may continue to enjoy the gifts of freedom. I am so sad for this great loss to his family and to our country, but we can take some solace that he is now in a far better place. Rest easy young soldier in the arms of your Lord, and thank you for your gift. We will not forget you.

Good Morning, I am the proud Mother of PFC Charles Hester and would like to thank all of you for taking the time to honor my son. I have been receiving and reading the Stryker news ever since my son was sent to Iraq and although I had my share of worries always thought that he would be coming home. This has been a really long week for the family but I have to tell you that we have never been more proud of Charlie and this great country for all the support that we have been given. I will continue to pray for all of you that still have children and loved ones over there and hope that you never have to feel this great void such a loss creates.
The memorial for Charlie is June 7th which also happens to be his 24th birthday and then I hope he will be laid to rest on Fri or Sat with Military Honors.
Again thank you for all of your words of comfort.
