It pains me deeply every day to read about the loss of someone's loved one. My youngest son is in the same unit as Matthew and I almost don't want to read the Stryker Brigade News for fear of seeing his name. My heartfelt sympathy and prayers go out to Matthew's family, freinds and loved ones. I can't say anything that will ease the pain or feeling of loss that they are experiencing. But know that I am thankful for Matthew's bravery, loyalty and sense of duty that he has shown. He has helped to keep terrorism from our shores and made the ultimate sacrafice. For that, I will be eternally grateful.

I miss you brother.I remember when I first came to this unit. You were the one that took me in,showed me a friend.I will never forget that, nor the crazy nights we've had.I miss you so much, but we both know I need to keep fighting. And I will, for you.I pray you've been watching over us.And if you have,I know you're proud.Thank you for always being my friend and brother.Your memory will always be with me.
