New Design

Yes, this is still Stryker Brigade News! We are in the process of rolling out a redesigned site. Some areas still have the old look and feel, but we will work on converting them as time allows.

You'll notice some features that used to be on the homepage are no longer available. We really wanted to reduce the amount of info to the bare essentials. If there is something missing you thought was critical please feel free to send me an email (todd at strykernews dot com). I welcome other feedback as well - migrations never go 100% according to plan.

UPDATE: Some people are reporting that the ads on the left side are creeping over to the right and blocking the news articles. I've tested this layout in multiple browsers and have not seen that problem. If you are experiencing this could you please let me know what type of browser you use, and what version? Also, please try and "refresh" (hit F5 key) and see if that makes a difference. Doing so will force the browser to load the most current version of the site. Thanks.

QUESTION: Thanks to medicdad we may have figured out the problem. If the ads are blocking the news, can you tell me if reducing your text size fixes the problem? In Internet Explorer you can reduce the text size by going to View > Text Size and selecting "Smallest". Does that fix it? "Medium" is the default size if you want to return to the way it was after you test it. If that is the problem then I can see if there is an easy fix.

i do not like it becasue it is very hard for the eyes to read. I think maybe because of the white backgroud and the black and green letters. I think the old way was better

Hi, Just wanted to say I don't like the way the site looks now. It was easier to navigate and read the way it was before. Might just take some getting used to but I already miss the site the way it was before. I especially don't like the white background. Thanks! Have a great day!

I use Internet Explorer and am having the problem of the ads on the left blocking half of the newspage. When I push F5 it fixex it for approx. 5 seconds. In fact I can not read half of this comment due to the adds blocking. I visit this site daily the white background needs to be changed.

I will collect feedback and see if I can come up with a common denominator for those experiencing layout issues.

The "new" look does look nice, but since I didn't geet to see the "old" look, I can't compare.

Overwriting of the center column text by ads loading later on the left only occurs on some pages. This is probably an HTML formatting error in the page source code.

I found that if I have my favorites open on the left side of the screen, the ads creep over the text. Closing the favorites (or any other window that is on the side) corrected the problem.

Please put the time back on the front page. I enjoyed knowing what time it is in Iraq when I'd read the sight. Sometimes I'd check in @ strykernews just to see the time and know what time it was over there for my son.
