Your soldier is a hero. May God comfort and bless your family during this difficult time.

I am deeply sorry for your loss, words can never express what the heart feels. Your son was an American hero, he has touched the life of every person in this country, because he gave himself for the people,...whether they know it or not! We are blessed to have such soldiers as your son, he will NEVER be forgotten.

Our heartfelt sympathy go out to the family of this young soldier. May your wonderful memories of Spc. Kenneth Cross bring you a measure of strength to get you through this most difficult time. We, the military familes grieve for each and every one of our fallen angels because we know that but for the grace of God .....

172nd Stryker Mom

I read this first on Sunday night on MSN.com.
I cried in such fear that it was my child, but when I found out it wasn't, I cried for the mother who would hear this horrible news...and for you, I am still crying. Try and remember,as we all must, this is a volunteer army and your child was brave enough and strong enough of a man to face this. He IS a true AMERICAN HERO! May God bless Kenneth and his legacy... Our proud American Soldiers...Our "Army of One"!

I know that there will never be exactly the right words to comfort you in this great time of sorrow but I want you to know that your family is in my prayers. I did not know Kenneth, but my son did. He is also in the 1-23 Stryker Brigade. Beacuse of this I feel as if Kenneth was a part of my extended family and I truly grieve for you.
Kenneth was a true hero as many have said. He volunteered and did what his heart led him to do.
Now may the Lord be with you and know that there are many people who are grieving with you.

1-23 Stryker Mom,
Nancy

My thought and prayers go out to the family and fellow soldier friends of Kenneth Cross. As a Stryker mom I feel as if each and every soldier is my son. Kenneth is an American Hero and will always be remembered for his brave service. May God give you strength during this most difficult time!
Joe's Stryker Mom

Cross was a great guy. We graduated basic training together and were among the first 5 "cherries" to arrive to 1/23 Infantry. We weren't assigned companies yet and we did busy work like landscaping and painting. We named ourselves the "Cherry Coalition." We did everything together, including getting smoked by Wallace. Cross would get so mad at Wallace. He always had his hair slicked and anytime we would go out, he wore his leather USA jacket. Crossfire, I'll miss you.
