You are my cousin Elaina's husband and even though I did not meet you but received a picture of the two of you together I was immediately connected to you. I want you to know that every time I look at the picture of the two of you & you in uniform...I'll be thanking and loving you for being a hero.

What an amazing heroic man Rat was. He was generous and so fun to be around. There wasn't a day that went by that Rat didn't offer my husband a hand or any of those around him. From the stories told, he was a man of a great heart. He's found a more peaceful home and another duty to accomplish from the big man up above. It was his time to go and make an even bigger impact from a place that will allow him to shine even brighter and touch a million more lives. He'll be looking down with a forceful smile and watching over his boys in Mosul protecting them and leading them all back home. God bless the Morton family and friends that mourn for him. Do know that he's with you every day even if you can't physically be touched by him.

I am deeply saddened for the family everytime a soldier leaves us. My son also knew Sgt. Morton and was very sad himself today. I pray for God to lessen your pain, and the pain of the soldiers still fighting for us.
