I forgot to mention earlier that Steve Thorne sent a few pre and post operation photos of Scott and his family. He assured me that none of the more "graphic" photos taken by the surgeons are included. Gotta' love that smile.
Comments For "New Photos":
For the curious, the "graphic" photos are:
1) The replacement piece screwed into place with the scalp held back by turquoise-colored skin retractors.
2) The scalp stitched up before the bandages were put on. Basically, it looks like the stitching on one of those big softballs you see at a company picnic.
(And no, I'm not going them to send to anybody who isn't a neurosurgeon, etc., so don't ask.)
You just have to love #59. That smile on both faces says it all. So glad that the surgery went well, and Scott is certainly looking more like his old self. Continued prayers for all of you. Thanks for sharing with us.
What a wonderful smile........my thoughts and prayers are with all of you...I have enjoyed the updates....that humor you all share will heal many scars........almost as good as the hug therapy.....God Bless you Scott......continue the great progress......I will keep watching for your continued letters.......A very proud Deuce Four soldier's mom
Scott: I wouldn't let the fellows see that wonderful picture (#59) with your mother They might conclude you're a momma's boy rather than a tough battle-hardened sergeant. I won't tell if you don't. My boy said he saw you at Fort Lewis. Hope you get back to work soon. Richard Hanlin
Wow, the smile tells it all. The baby is sure growing up and you can tell she is a Daddy's girl. Scott you sure have your Mom's smile. God bless and a speedy recovery you deserve it.
