Iraqi Security Forces have stepped up their involvement in security operations and are conducting numerous independent operations. In preparation for the recent elections in Iraq, a great deal of emphasis was placed on security. That security posture was bolstered by increased numbers of ISF and their increased capability to provide security for their country.
ISF have detained numerous insurgents in operations in the past couple of months, and have confiscated a number of weapons and ammunition. Multi-National Force commanders laud the independent operations being carried out by ISF.
Officials say that the security partnership between Iraqi Security Forces and Multi-National Forces is being strengthened primarily through the increasing strength of the Iraqi Security Forces.
