Emily - I know everyone has posted in response to your post of yesterday - but this is to reiterate how very sad and sorry I am for your loss. Please know that everyone here has you and your family in our prayers.
This was my wonderful, loving, husband, 1LT Nainoa Hoe. He is missed so deeply.. But I know that he's watching over us now.. he's in heaven, free of pain, free of worries.. and free of that hostile war zone. I love you baby.
Emily, my heart aches for you. You and your family are in my prayers. Your husband paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, we are forever in his debt, and he will not ever be forgotten. We're all here for you, Emily.
My condolences to you and your family. I could only imagine the pain and sorrow you're going through. I myself am a Stryker"wife". We hope and pray that our good Lord will wrap you in His loving arms and help you to find peace. I've only seen your husband's pictures on the Strykernews website. I don't personally know you and your husband but feel we have a bond with our husbands being in the warzone. God bless and keep you always.
1LT Nainoa Hoe was one of the best guys I have ever met. I was his driver and it was an honor and a pleasure to be in his service. He was like a big brother to me. When I think of him I see his big goofy smile and hear his warm laugh. He was the best. God I miss him. We all do. I will never forget him.
I wish i could put into words the things i am feeling right now. I want you to know that my heart goes out to you. If there is anything i could say to ease your pain, i do not know what it is. I was Lt.Hoes RTO, and had been by his side every day for the last 4 months and was there with him yesterday. He was more than a boss, he was a good friend. It's a terrible thing that happened, but i try to take comfort in the fact that he will be watching over us all until we are out of this place. Be strong Emily, and know that all of us in second platoon send our condolences. He will be missed deeply.
Emily, your husband was a very special, and caring person on this earth, so his reward will be very special in Heaven. May this knowledge help you to find comfort and peace. There are so many people here who would do anything to help you. Please let us know how we can help. You and your families are in our hearts and prayers.

Alta Austin (Stryker Mom)
You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. I lost my cousin, SSgt Marvin Best USMC, in Iraq last June but can not touch your grief. Only know that all of us here at Strykernews.com care about you and your family.
They helped me in my time of need.
To Emily, Nakoa, Nainoa's parents and family, and his brothers in arms still serving in harms way, my condolences. I went to high school with Nainoa, so I have known him for many years. I recently completed my one year tour in Iraq and when I found out Nainoa's brigade would be replacing mine, I said I would be willing to serve another year if only I could be promised Nainoa would be my platoon leader. I am now back in Ft. Lewis, safe and comfortable, and my service feels cheap compared to his sacrifice. Please let me know if and when services will be held and I will be there. You will be missed.
Emily,
You all have my deepest sympathy, I am another stryker mom, please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers, your husband was loved by so many and I know he is watching over all of you, family and friends, right now. You sound like you are very proud of him and you should be, he is a hero and will never be forgotten. There are many tears being shed tonight over your loss. I hope the special memories of the moments you shared together will help carry you through the days ahead and help give you comfort. I thank you for your sacrifice, Emily, and that of your wonderful husband. He was a very special man.
God Bless all of you and may He guide you and help you find strength through this difficlt time. Sincerely, Char
My deepest condolences to you and your family. You seem like a very strong woman. Knowing your husband is in the arms of the Lord is a blessing in itself. I am so deeply sorry for the loss of your beloved husband. I am praying for you. As a citizen of the Nation he vowed to defend, I am so grateful for his service. He will not be forgotten. May he rest in peace and let perpetual light shine upon him.
I am so sorry for your loss. My family's prayers are with you during this time, and for the future. I know my brother ( 1LT Phillip Fassieux ) considered him to be like a brother to him. One he looked to for support, and understanding during their rough times out there.
Just know that we are all here for you. I'm only 15 min from you, so if you need anything, please email me.

Emily,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I feel we got a small sample of the man you loved by your posts here on the boards. I remember thinking what a great person he must be, always thinking of others, always wanting to do more... The words from his own soldiers confirm this to be true. I pray that soon, smiles will replace your tears....
Emily, your husband honorably served his country to defend freedom, for this we are grateful. From the posts he was a leader his men looked to and a wonderful husband. We will keep you and your family in our prayers.

Emily, my heart aches for you; I wish there was something I could do to take the pain away. I've had the privilege of getting to know you on the forum over the past few months...never in my life would I have imagined this. I know you and Nainoa only had a short time together, but cherish all those memories and never let them go. Just looking at pictures of the two of you, it's easy to see you two were truly in love. God blessed both of you in being able to experience that with each other. Remember, you have an angel watching over you and he will always be with you. He will help you through this. Nainoa is an amazing man, soldier, and a hero...he will never be forgotten.

Emily, We are the family of Pfc Roettgers who is also serving in Iraq. He was with Lt. Hoe that terrible day. We want you to know that we are thinking about you and your family and praying that you have the strength to get through this. Jerry was very close to your husband, saying that he was more than his boss, he was a good friend. We grieve with our son and your family.
Sincerely, The Roettgers Family, Ohio
Dear Emily. I am so sorry to hear about your husband. He is, and always will be a Hero to this country. I have read all the comments and looked at the photos posted on the site. And...I feel like I knew him. I pray for you, your family and LT. Nainoa Hoe. US Army....
I am sorry to hear of your loss. though i never met your husband, from what my brother says, i am certain that he was a good man. i think these circumstances may be beyond my understanding; i have never expirienced anything like this, but i think one thing that may help get you through these times is to focus on, and be thankful for the chance you were given to know and love 1LT Nainoa Hoe. My prayers are with you and your family, and all the soldiers that are fighting for a greater cause.
Emily,
I just found out about Nainoa in the news paper... I, along with Kaleo went to High School with Nainoa. My deepest condolences to you and family. I'm still in shock as I just found out about two hours ago. Nainoa was one of the finest men I've ever met, and I'm proud that could call him a friend. Even in High School, everyone could tell he was at a standard all his own. He had his seriuos moments when things needed to get done, but then he'd say the most rediculous things, just to break the tension. He will be sorely missed. If there is anything I can do to help please let me know. Please let me know when the services are to be held. We love you bro.
I grieve for you in your loss but also lift you up in prayer. Stay strong in your faith and know that you have not only God's family, but a Stryker family ready and willing to be there for you.
I am so very sad for your loss. I am a member of the Hoe family, now living in Seattle, and came across the news today. Your husband was an honorable patriot who put himself in harms way in support of our nation. I am indebted to him for his service.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time of grief. I believe that just your husband is looking over us, too. To have such an apparent loving and caring man makes me feel a little safer in this world.
Our Sweet Emily,
Nainoa was loved and will be remembered deep in our souls. We were all blessed to have him in our lives. We are grateful for what he has done for us and we continue to pray for the rest of the soldiers and earnestly await for his Uncle Keoki to return home safely. We love you and lift you up in prayer every day.
Aunty Twinkle
Our deepest sorrow is with you today. Matthew and I had the honor of serving among Nainoa's first Commanders and military mentors when he first joined the Hawaii Army Reserve. Nainoa was clearly an instinctive leader and compassionate young man. He was not just respected and liked by his peers, but loved, and encouraged by everyone to take charge. We knew from the start that he would be a special leader, with good judgement, one you could trust.
We were so proud to see him go to the 100/442nd Infantry Bn and to excell in college and ROTC. We had expected to see him return after active duty, and someday command the 100/442nd Infantry.
We have a few special soldier "sons and daughters" serving in Iraq and on their way now. Like Nainoa, we helped recruit them and start them on their Army careers. We have watched quitely as they grew into the finest men and women, serving their country, community, and families. Nainoa is the first of these hanai sons and daughters that we have forever lost.
We praise you and his family for the strength and dignity you are showing America despite your grief by sharing your love and honoring Nainoa and his sacrifice publically. Thank you for helping Americans to pause once more, reflect, and remember that the price of their freedom and the hope for the freedom of people around the world is paid by the sacrifice of the life and future of a wonderful person like 1LT Nainoa Hoe.
I did not get a chance to meet you, but I went to UH ROTC with your husband. I remember when he first came into the program. My husband, 1LT Jeremy L. Wolfe (who was also killed in Mosul, Iraq) and Nainoa automatically saw eye to eye having the same prior service Infantry background. They shared the same mentality and had a command presence that came so naturally to them. When Nainoa took over the ROTC BN, you knew he was in charge, decisive, knowlegable, and caring. He will be deeply missed. Please don't hesitate to call me if you need someone to talk to. 931 237-6660. My heart goes out to you and your family.
Aloha Emily,
My name is Pomaikai Anduha and was a friend of Nainoa at Kamehameha Schools C/O 95. My reguards goes out to you and the entire Hoe Family. May God give you strength at this time and show you the light that he has given to you. ALso remember the lessons and gifts that he has given to all of us. May he rest in peace and you all find your path that he has influenced by.
God Bless you all,
Pomaikai Anduha
Dear Emily,
I am so thankful for Nainoa's sacrifice for the support you and your family give to your country and the soldiers who serve it. I knew Nainoa at UH Manoa. He a role model for Hawaiians and for all soldiers.
I came back from Iraq almost a year ago, and I know the good things that have come from America's presence there. When I was there, there were numerous occassions when common people would go out of there way to say, "Thank you." I believe that the majority of the people in Iraq are thankful and the world will be a better place because of the sacrifices of American soldiers. Nainoa died to give these people the freedom that we have always been able to live with. For your sacrifice, and his, thank you very much. God Bless you.
I am a graduate of Kamehameha c/o 2003 and friend of Nainoa's younger brother, Nakoa. I have only met your hunsband a few times when he would help with the Ranger Club on Saturdays and share his knowledge. He was always a self determinded person and always willing to help others. I am very sorry for your loss and it was a shock when I heard about his passing. I am sure that he died knowing that you and his family will be protected from the hostile forces that lay beyond.
Nainoa was a special person. Those who were closest to him know that he died doing the only thing he wanted to do. He was a good man and a beautiful person. He will be greatly missed by all who have ever had the pleasure to know and love him.
Emily and 'Ohana
I'm so sorry for your loss and hope God brings you happy days. I went to high school with and was in Na Koa with Nainoa. He was so goofy and made us all laugh, and he was a powerful and brilliant leader all at the same time. I'm here in Iraq for the second time, he replaced us when I was here for the first rotation, and I will never forget the sacrifice he laid down on this land. God bless you all and take care.
Aloha
Jana
Emily,
I only knew Nainoa during ROTC Advanced Camp at Ft. Lewis. However, we had a great time together and I like to think we made lasting impressions on each other. Even though we gradually lost touch, I have often thought of him and the path he took. I only recently found out what happened to him and I can only hope that you and your family have been able to get through the past year and a half with lots of love and support from others. Currently, I am a medevac pilot in the army and my sole job in life is to ensure our soldiers make it home to their families. If you still visit this site from time to time and read this, know that my next trip to the sandbox will be dedicated in Nainoa's name. And I will use his memory and your loss to motivate me to save as many as possible.

No spoken words can heal your pain and sorrow at this time, but be assured our lord in heaven is there for you and your beloved husband.
Love is eternal, and remember all the wonderful times you shared.
We, in Hawaii, are fiercely proud of our shared heritage. We will surely miss, but never forget our "local boy", Nainoa.

Emily:
I am so very sad for your loss. I am a member of the Hoe family, now living in Seattle, and came across the news today. Your husband was an honorable patriot who put himself in harms way in support of our nation. I am indebted to him for his service.
May God bless you always.

Emily:
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time of grief. I believe that just your husband is looking over us, too. To have such an apparent loving and caring man makes me feel a little safer in this world.

Our Sweet Emily,
Nainoa was loved and will be remembered deep in our souls. We were all blessed to have him in our lives. We are grateful for what he has done for us and we continue to pray for the rest of the soldiers and earnestly await for his Uncle Keoki to return home safely. We love you and lift you up in prayer every day.

Aloha Mrs. Emily Hoe,
Our deepest sorrow is with you today.
With Greatest Respect,
Colonel Dawn Horn & Colonel Matthew Horn

Dear Emily,
I did not get a chance to meet you, but I went to UH ROTC with your husband.

Dear Emily,
I am so thankful for Nainoa's sacrifice for the support you and your family give to your country and the soldiers who serve it.

Aloha Emily,
I am a graduate of Kamehameha c/o 2003 and friend of Nainoa's younger brother, Nakoa.
Malama Pono and God Bless,

Aloha

Emily,
I only knew Nainoa during ROTC Advanced Camp at Ft.
Sincerely,
Danny Moore
