Dear Friends,
I was going to call this Weekend Update, but that's probably the intellectual property of NBC. Our weekend was not as entertaining as that segment of Saturday Night Live, but it was pleasant nonetheless.
Saturday:
Julie and I slept in (a little) and went to the Fisher House after the kids called us with the invitation. We watched movies with Scott and Tiff while Alyson slept on the couch with them. Scott showed me his new ankle brace, which resembles one of a pair of white leggings. Odd looking thing.
Later in the afternoon, Julie made a delicious dinner for us, which we enjoyed as a family in the dining room of the Fisher House. Some time after dinner, we left for the hotel room. I was having problems with back spasms since Friday afternoon, but I've got the meds to help me out. I just don't like taking them because they make me drowsy.
Sunday:
Almost a repeat of Saturday, except we arrived later. We went over to the Fisher House after the kids called. It's easier for Scott to just stay there than come to our hotel. I wondered where Scott was after we arrived. Then I looked up the stair case. Scott was walking down the stairs carrying Alyson with his left arm and holding the rail with his right. Tiff was two steps ahead of him as a safety precaution, but he got it done with no problems, only a big smile.
We watched the Vikings lose to Da Bears and then ordered pizza. We left about 3:30 for the hotel. The back isn't as bad as yesterday, but standing up is still an interesting experience.
