Update 11/21

Nov-21-2004 » Filed Under: Scott Thorne

Dear Friends,

We all got up a little after 9 and went for breakfast downstairs. After he ate, my grandson, Kellan, (with me right behind him) went up the stairs to the second floor, walked down the hall to the elevator and pushed the only buttons he could reach ("down" and "1"). We made this trip about five times before he grew tired of it.

Trevor (Scott's friend) had to leave about noon and we all said goodbye. It was very good for Scott to have him here. Thanks again, Fisher House, for arranging the visit.

After he left, we watched football (of course). Dan was happy about the Vikings beating Detroit, but we were all amazed the Dolphins managed to lose. After that we watched 60 Minutes. The first segment concerned the number of wounded and evacuated soldiers that did not appear on any reports. This report confirmed some suspicions I formed while we were at Walter Reed. We did not meet any of those shown in the program, but we did meet soldiers with similar stories. Scott did not have a problem watching the segment so far as I could tell.

The Wizard of Oz came on next and Scott did his Occupational Therapy homework until it was time to leave. He left with Tiffany and Aly, but had a slightly different destination. Scott wanted to go to the hospital in order to be ready for an important eye test (to determine the exact areas of his visual field deficits) in the morning.

Another nice Sunday overall.
