Greetings everyone,
The last few days have been pretty hectic with a lot of ups and downs. Michael had surgery again today, so he was pretty out of it for the most part. However, he did get down the hall yesterday to visit with Travis Majors for a couple hours. After a few minutes it was like they were back in a Stryker in Mosul recounting some of the missions they were on. We decided to leave the two alone for some time together and I was surprised they talked for so long. Needless to say, it was a very emotional time for them both. Travis is leaving WR tomorrow for a hospital in Georgia that specializes in spinal cord injuries. Please keep this fine young man in your prayers, he has a long road ahead of him.
Cindy stopped by to see Travis and Michael and we got some pics that I posted in our gallery. I have some more that I will add tomorrow to Travis' gallery also. She is such a blessing to the guys, they both really enjoy her visits. She is such an upbeat person and always has the guys smiling in no time.
I ran into Kathleen from Soldiers Angels in the hallway and after a bit Cindy came by and I introduced the two of them. I figured it was only fitting that the two finally met since they have both been very instumental in keeping me sane.
I will be traveling home in a few days, thanks to Anna and her group from the VFW so that our daughter Andrea will be able to visit her brother. She is so excited and can not wait to see her bro. I sure wish I could be in DC to see Michael's face when he sees her. Let me just say he will not believe his eyes.
Georganna is doing better today and it was nice that she got to spend most of the afternoon and night with Michael. She sat at the foot of his bed for hours talking and she also puts the stuff on his feet to treat the jungle rot. I worry about leaving her here while I go home to take care of the house but I know there are a lot of people here that will help her if needed. There are so many organizations offering their time it sometimes gets confusing but with time it is getting easier for us.
I pray all is well with everyone and hope to meet many of you some day. Your support means a lot to me and I know your prayers are helping us all. Take care and God bless.
Your friend forever,
Mike Oreo
Comments For "Update on Michael and Travis":
Mike-Thank you so much for keeping us posted on not only Mike's progress but also Travis'. Although my Son's Stryker unit has returned to Fort Lewis, I still read the Stryker news daily to keep track of the brave men that served in his unit. Tell Travis and Mike our prayers are with them daily for their recovery and also with the other brave soldiers who are fighting now for our Enduring Freedom. Love and eternal gratitude to all of you.

Godspeed Travis.
He was experiencing some tingling in his arms. I pray that his recovery continues. A nicer, kinder person, I've never met.
