Hello all,
Michael received a direct order from a 1st Lt today and followed it to the letter.
The docs have him taking it easy for a while, no PT or OT for a few more days. We did get a look and demonstration of the electronic prothesis he will be training on shortly. Pretty amazing stuff, cutting edge electronics and sensors that make the arm and hand move. Even Michael was intrigued by the inner workings.
By the way, The wife turns the big 50 tomorrow and will be celebrating with a flight home to see our daughter and get her drivers license renewed. Long story short, the facility can not issue her a picture ID so they are sending her home to renew it then fly her back. Hmmmmm round trip flight for a picture???? What is wrong with that picture? But I digress, that is an issue for another day. ;-)
I plan on stopping by Travis Majors room tomorrow to check on his progress. Our special angel Cindy stopped by and said Travis was doing well when she talked to him the other day and said he wanted some pics taken to place on the site. I will post them as I get them along with some other pics of the hospital and the goings on around the ward. (I had to learn how to use the software for the camera and luckily, the first run worked as designed)
We got to meet the people from the Military Order of the Purple Heart and got some great information from them. We also had the priviledge to meet some ladies with another group that is doing some excellent work for our injured soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines in hospitals here in the DC area. (I have pics of them also and will post them shortly) Peggy, Liz and Anna are the most helpful and full of energy people I have met this weekend. They are a blessing to us here in DC and it amazes me at the amount of good they do. God bless them and those like them for they help us all.
Anyway, it is getting late again, tomorrow is another busy day so I have to call it a night. I have to start doing better with time management now that I am not getting lost all the time around here. Take care all, God bless and thanks to everyone for all the help, prayers and good wishes. I really appreciate it.
Regards,
Mike 'Oreo' Oreskovic

No doubt in my mind that Mike will take on this new challenge and do extremely well!!
I never read your posts that I don't start humming that great song..."I'll get by with a little help from my friends." I'm sure everyone who is lending any assistance at all, in any way is getting 100 TIMES more from it than you can possibly imagine. Just meeting you, Mike and your wife and son and having a chance to view the courage in Walter Reed has got to be the most rewarding experience available in a lifetime!!
Mike has a great future ahead of him. He's living in the age of technology!! I just read of a mountain climber who climbs with a "bionic arm".
Best wishes from all your fans at the Tea Party, Mike!!
