Dear Friends,

This is going to be a short update as I'm still not packed for my return to DC via redeye and my ride arrives in 60 minutes. Whew! (faster, faster, faster!).

Julie reports Scott did very well at PT today. Scott walked on the treadmill for a while and then walked on the bars for about twenty minutes total. He worked the same arm machine for about five minutes.

Julie had to go return the vehicle to her niece (Thanks again very much Jenn and Floyd) so she missed an official visit. Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz and some stars appeared. (No word on whether Mr. Wolfowitz licked his comb) One of the generals had been to Mosul and he and Scott talked about the city. Tiffany reports Scott spoke so well, you couldn't tell he a speech problem. The DEPSECDEF gave Scott and Tiffany coins and my only complaint about that was his name in on the coin. No offense, but that strikes me as being a bit arrogant. However, visiting the troops makes up for it.

I'm going to be gone for some time, utilizing the Family Medical Leave provisions of Federal, State and local laws. I would rather have not needed to use it, but I guess I can take advantage once every 19 years of service, eh?

I can't thank all of you enough for your support of Scott, and by extension, his family. It is greatly appreciated.
