MOSUL, IRAQ (July 31, 2004) – Based on a tip, Turkish Customs Officials stopped and searched a cargo truck yesterday and found a large amount of ammunition and explosives.

Items confiscated included 10,000 rounds of AK-47 ammunition, 90-100 kilograms of C4 plastic explosives, 20 detonator caps, one handgun and six hand-held radios

This is another example of how concerned citizens can help the security forces keep terrorists and weapons from traveling across the borders.

All citizens are urged to cooperate with security forces by providing information that leads to the capture and arrest of anti-Iraqi forces. Anyone with information should call the Joint Coordination Center in Mosul at 125 or 513462.
