MOSUL, Iraq (July 3, 2004) - Pvt. Ian Battan, Vancouver, Wash., secures his sector of fire from the Stryker’s air sentry hatch. When Company C, 1st Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment – Battan’s unit – entered Iraq, he was still in basic training. Battan was assigned to Company C in Mosul, Iraq, in June. (photo by Sgt.
