The Horse

The following poem was written by our friend Marcel. The cavalry has certainly come a long way.

The Horse

What came before the Stryker Force?
Carried knights of old over their course.
The horse.

Long before a mechanical steed..
Transport of man was dependent indeed..
On the horse.

Prehistoric man, long before he rode..
Or made his abode,...he knew..
The horse.

Native man's best friend and always dependable,..
It was most cherished,..never expendable.
Often painted, decorated,...honored, celebrated..
The horse.

Fortunes won and lost..for some...ultimate cost.
This noble steed,..led to the ultimate breed..
The thoroughbred racer and the fancy pacer..
The horse.

Always a worker, this helper of man, has been.
Loyal provider of labor for farm..never posed harm.
The horse.

The ultimate call, most elegant presence for all.
A friend and companion, the most noble stallion.
Or mare for her gentleness to the young and the old.
The animal of legend...gentle and kind..yet bold..
The horse.

-Marcel

BTW, Happy Birthday Marcel.
