Sometimes the word thank you just doesn't cover it. This is one of those times. I worry sick over what these brave men and women are going through and my son is never out of my mind. I wonder how they get such strength. I ponder about the sacrifices they are making for us all and wonder why the rest of us don't feel more guilty, or at least indebted. I am so proud of my son and all these brave souls. I am also in awe that God made such people who would do so much for people they will likely never even meet. Thank you doesn't cover it. I am in total awe.

Sue Owiesny

To our son Patirck in the 209 MI and all the other brave troops serving in Mosul and all parts of the theater, our prayers are constantly with you. No other army in history have been called to do what you do. You all volunteered to serve. Under no shadow of inscription this is what makes you stand out. I served over 22 years in the U.S. Navy, both active and reserve and want you to know that serparation from family and hometown friends for extended periods is tough, but keep faith that this too will pass and there will be better days. Get to know each other you serve with. Cherish especially those who you are close to then years from now you will look back on this time as one of the best times of your lives even under so adverse circumstances. I read in the Stryker News and links of all the good our troops are doing and believe me there is so much good news being proclaimed here. Don't let the bad new distract you from your mission. Those who matter believe in you. Keep the faith, stay on guard and may God bless each of you.

I really miss my oldest son, he's been in northern Iraq. His father and I have three children, he has a younger brother and sister.. we all really miss him. Time does not stand still for no one. I've asked him not to reenlist. I was a young 29 when he arrived, he is now 21. We are still doing elementary school and next fall, our middle child will be attending junior highschool. We proudly served with him, as all families do. And are looking forward to more of talking instead of typing, to him.. the very good soldier. Nothing to add. God continues to bless our country now and ahead..a soldiers moma

I am a wife of a member of the 1/14th Stryker Bde, like so many other spouses i miss my husband dearly, infact i break down in tears & find it hard to breathe sometimes when i think 'maybe he may not come home from this' I cannot comprhend or imagine not having him in my life, it is torturous, then i get to thinking about what he is doing, and what he believes in. That Pride & Strength makes me take a deep breath & stay strong. I want to let my husband know I love him dearly, God bless our troops & may you all find the strength to keep going!!!!!

Thank you to all the soldiers!! The American people are behind you 100%.

May God bless you and keep you safe.

We support your family and all of the families who are watching and waiting for your safe return. But, in our hearts, we are with you for every operation; every patrol; every victory; and yes, every loss. You are my hero's. My son's. To you, and to all of the brave men and women who serve by your side, to all of you willing to fight the good fight with courage beyond my comprehension, I give my humble graditude and appreciation for a job well done.

Our family is so very proud of the Stryker's and the 2ID. You all are doing the right thing. Freedom for an oppressed people is always the right thing.
My father was in the 2ID, 23rd Regiment, "K"Co. during the Korean War. He was KIA at Hang-ye and received 2 Silver Stars and a Purple Heart. His name is SFC Woodrow Wilson Curtis and he is buried at the FT. Lewis Cemetery He was so proud of being a part of the 2ID and liberating Korea.
I have always has a special place in my heart for the 2ID. Keep up the good work and stand proud, stand tall and know that what you are doing is the right thing.
I have a shop in a center where there are Korean Vendors and they found out about my dad and tell me frequently to "tell your daddy thank you for liberating our country so that we could be free."
You are liberating a country so those people can be free and know what democracy is. IT IS AN IMPORTANT JOB. THANK YOU STRYKER'S FOR DOING WHAT IS RIGHT.

It sounds pretty ugly there with the heat and people targeting you...but hey you are the embassadors of Peace...good luck and protection with a whole lot of direction...
Love to all from a Styker MOM...

GOD bless all of you for what you have sacrificed and are sacrificing to make the world a safer place. I have no friends or family members in the military. I live near Fort Lewis Washington. When I see a military vehicle or a soldier I get tears in my eyes to think of the position you all place yourselves in to preserve our American way of life. I recently heard of how the movie "Fareinheit 9-11" is affecting the morale of some of you in a bad way. Please pay no attention to it. It is a bunch of lies. Michael Moore, the maker of the film is a man who is illinformed and needs lots of prayer.I pray for all of our troops daily. Thank you again for what you are doing and GOD bless you, give you HIS peace that passes understanding, comfort you and your families. I pray that HE wraps HIS arms around you. This is a blessing to me to recieve this website. Love, Diana Miner, Toutle Washington

From a 3 tour nam vet to you who are in harms way, may you all return home in sound bodies and minds , and may you be victourious in your task of bringing freedom to the Iraqi people, and heres hoping they all open their eyes and see what you are attempting to do for them.

To the vietnam vet you are a hero too! We thank you also I lost my uncle in nam he was weeks from coming home! You nam vets are never forgotten we thank you for all your sacrifices! From a Stryker Mom!

I first want to say how very proud I am of every military person that is fighting for all of our freedom. We all owe our lives to them. I am so proud of all of you and proud to be an American. I think about what they go through, the extremely long hours and/or days they put in, the lack of sleep, the living conditions, fighting the heat, and being away from all of your loved ones. I feel for each and every one that of you. I want to give special acknowledgment to The Stryker Brigade, 2nd ID, 3rd BDE, all the soldiers, my boyfriend...Mike. I feel so lucky that you have came into my life!! You are such an incredible man and an incredible soldier. Sometimes I miss you so much, it hurts but I know you are doing your duty over there and I'm so very proud of you for everything that you do. I know you don't like me to worry but I will worry about you til you come home safely. I will "always" be here for you to support you and to love you. I'm patientely ( well, trying to be patient..lol ), anxiously might be a better word, waiting for you to come home. Don't worry, I'll keep those great care packages coming til you do come home. :-) I pray every day for you and everyones' safety. Please take care of yourself and stay safe honey!!

Very Proud Girlfriend Of Stryker Soldier Mike!!!

My prayers are with you all. I pray that all of you stay safe and come home soon. But my special prayers are out to my brother. Curtis, I love you and miss you. I really appreciate your support about me being at college. You are my inspiration and I just wanted you to know that I love you and miss you. Please stay safe and keep doing what you love.

Your little sis, Chantel

Well we all can finally see the light at the end of this long dark tunnel. I am so very proud of all the Stryker Soldiers and their families for hanging in there and keeping each others spirits up. I know I'm not alone when I say sometimes in the last year it has been hard to even breathe, let alone get through each long day. I am excited and overjoyed and relieved to see our guys come home soon. To my husband, I love you more and more everyday, you are my soulmate and my best friend. Stay safe and we will be together kissing under the stars again soon.

To our Daddy, SSG Dustin Rinehart. We miss you all the time. We are very very proud of you. We can't wait for you to come home. We love you Daddy! oh P.S GO DALE EARNHARDT JR. Come home and watch the races with us soon. Stay Safe. Mom says hi and she loves and misses you very much.

The extent of my gratitude is boundless. My pride in our military swells my heart. The best way I can think to thank you is to thank God for you and your families who share in your sacrifice
for the well being of our country. May God bless you all and His angels watch over you.

Thanks for your incredibly difficult work. Your friends and families miss you. Keep safe, and keep doing right. I hope you all get to come home soon.

I want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH to all the troops overseas and in the homeland. Without you all, we wouldn't have the peace and freedom we all so dearly take for granted.

My boyfriend is in Mosul right now and I know he is fighting for our country. I can't wait for him to get home. It's so hard to not be able to talk to him regularly. The fear and anxiety of not knowing where he is at is so frustrating, but I understand he (and the rest of the SBCT) are doing their jobs.

A great MANY thanks to all active, inactive, reserve, or guard personnel for making our lives safer. Love and prayers to all the troops alive and those families who have lost a loved one, and especially to that one particular soldier). I miss you baby!!

God Bless to you all, and come home safe!!

To the men and women of the Stryker Brigade - thank you for the sacrifices you all have made making sure are freedom endures. To SGT. RANDY HOLLOWAY - we love you and are proud of you. We miss you lots and can't wait for your safe return. Much love to you and may god bless you and keep you safe.

I wanted to send you a note to say thank you. Thank you for protecting our country and our freedom. I can't imagine how hard it is being away from your family and home. But I really appreciate all you have had to sacrifice on our behalf. The American people owe you so much. And I know we will never be able to repay you. All I can offer you are words of gratitude. I have two children one is 8 and the other is 6. I feel like you are defending our freedom and giving them a better future. For that, I am forever grateful. I have taught them about you and what you have to give up for us to live in this land of freedom. When they see a military person they go up and say, " thank you for protecting our country." I've seen grown men almost brought to tears by this simple gesture. Funny how the small things in life are taken for granted isn't it? Sept. 11 taught me to take small things for granted no more. And I hope to live the rest of my life remembering those lessons. I only wish more people remembered how we felt on Sept. 12. Then more people would remember to say thank you to you and those with you.
In closing, let me once again tell you thank you. May you be safe in your travels.
Paulette Nelson

Thank you to my son and all his commrades in Iraq. A year with the Stryker Brigade draws him close to a year. I have recently been able to see him on web cam and the truer reality of what he was doing hit me. I was flattened the whole next day. After seeing him, tired eyes, but the pride welled in him and his frequent smiles. My prayers are not only for him and when a soldier falls or is wounded I don't worry was it my son. It was some parent's son like me. I work as a critical care RN but will never rivel what our soldiers have done for this country. All I can say is Thank You! Stryker Mom

Thank you to all the soldiers and their families who go through extreme sacrifices so we can have our freedom. You are our nations hero's. My fiancé is with the Stryker brigade and my thoughts and prayers are with him and every other soldier keeping this country safe. Pfc. Brian Connaughton I love you with all my heart and miss you incredibly... We are all waiting for your safe return and cannot wait for your smile to brighten our days. I am so proud of you baby! Come home to me so we can finally get married, okay! Continue to stay safe and be careful. I love you so much! XoXoXo...

I am sending a heartfelt "thank-you" to all the extraordinary men and women protecting and serving our country. Please know that we are praying for your safe return to your families and that God will help heal Iraq. Also KNOW that no matter what the political outcome in this country or in Iraq, what you are doing is GOOD. You are helping people that have been unable to help themselves and serving the U.S. honorably. Our pride overflows...God Bless and keep you.

You've done your duty and your time is near. It's been a long road, but you are seeing the light. WITH A LAUGH..MOM YOU SAID..EVERY ONE'S IN MY
ROOM PLAYING WITH THE G.I.JOE'S..LOVE YOU SON.

To my son it's almost over!Soon we will be reunited again I can't wait to see your beautiful face and hold you in my arms!Pops and I and your sister are so proud of you!See you soon Jr.

Guys, "thanks," and "thanks ten thousand times" for your service over there. I did six in the Navy back when Russia was the enemy and a dozen years each fighting forest fires and EMT'ing in remote areas--and an Army brat, with my dad doing 26 with the 1st Inf, 2d Armor and 2d Cav (there was an "M8" lonnngg before the Stryker!) So I know that glory comes more in the anticipation and the aftermath of duty, and that along with duty comes a lot of boredom, tedium, drudgery, not to mention dust, dirt, no showers, and just going nuts from being far from home. Been there, done that, although my enemies were mostly not the shooting kind. The important thing is that you're doing what you are doing, and that means some pretty grand things--bringing liberty to a very dark land; bringing an end to a regime that was a fair comparison to Nazi Germany; of fighting a war the right way, using restraint sometimes when its the right thing to do. And you're doing some pretty "small" things that are just as important--covering your brothers, caring for the kids and innocents caught up in this, just getting up every day and doing your duty. I hope at least some of you know that we at home really do care; really do appreciate the work you do; and really do see what you're doing as something on the same order as our own country's founding. Hang in there, fight the fight; you are in our prayers day by day. Tomorrow will be a better place because you are there today. GSM

Thank you to the 3/2 SBCT, for helping make my children's world a safer place to live. Keep your heads down and come home soon! To my hero, SFC Leavell, I miss you so much baby, and the coming weeks can not go quickly enough for me. Every morning for the past 9 years I wake up feeling like I've won the lottery.. and I never even bought a ticket. Git R Done and hurry home.. All my love forever
K~

We're beginning to see the light at the end of this tunnel. We can't wait to hear your voices, hug you, swap stories& respect your silences. Our thoughts & prayers to all Stryker replacement soldiers & their families. Finally, a heartfelt thank you to the administrators of Stryker News-you've been a window of light in a rather dark year. Kathy Lambret-Davidson&family

To the family of PFC ADAM HARRIS: I cannot begin to express my condolences to your family for your sons sacrafice, just know that the whole stryker family grieves with you,and prays that the Lord is able to soothe your heart during this difficult time. This hero will never be forgotten. GOD BLESS

Hi--

My fiance, Sgt. Peter Wieden has been in Iraq for 11 months. He recently came home on leave, but is back there. All I kept saying to him was that I wanted him to stay home and that I didn't think I could let him go. His response was, "It is my job." It hurt me to have him say that, but then I thought about it--all of you soldiers over there have so many people back home that love and miss you so much and want you home.

You all think that it is your job, but your job is different from the jobs we have back home. Your job is in your soul and your heart and I finally understand that.

Thank you soldiers, all of you, for making us feel safe back home and for being who you are--

I love you Peter and I have love for all the soldiers!

Hi Peter & All the Soldiers of C Company 52 Inf. Stryker Brigade:

It was good having you home Pete. Your Mother and I miss the noise and chaos. We will be happy when you and all the guys from C Company can return to the States. Thank you and all of the men and women of the Stryker Brigade that have made so many sacrifices for us. Too many have made the ultimate sacrifice and they will not be forgotten.
Take care guys,
Chris Wieden

First off, I want to say thank you to all the soldiers who are fighting for what we call freedom!! You are all in my heart and my prayers every day. Also, special thanks to Sgt. Peter Wieden for making my girl, Doe so happy back home--you must hurry home so she can stop driving me crazy.

With that said--I am not sure if this person will ever get to read this or if anyone that does read this knows this person--Timothy Thompson from North Carolina--he was stationed in Japan--please pass this message along to him from me--

"I love you and I have been thinking about you and I pray that you are okay."
E-mail me if you get this at mcj12272000@yahoo.com.

With love and thoughts
Cheryl

I have been sitting here trying to come up with some more clever to say than what I said before, but nothing seems to come to mind except for this........Noone knows why some people feel in their soul to protect a whole country, but God knows that he put the right people where they are at. We pray for you everday and we miss you more everyday. Now, Peter--get yourself home so we can plan our wedding--

I love you Sgt. Peter Wieden and please pass along to your soldiers and all the soldiers that noone back home has forgotten--NEVER!!

Thank, Thank, Thank, I no longer personally know anyone there, but thank you!!. Keep the faith you are doing the right thing and you are doing a great job!!!

God Bless and keep all of you safe!!!!!!!!!

Thank,good job in IRAQ.

Very grateful and thankful to all of the Stryker soldiers serving the United States of America. I appreciate your bravery, your voluntary service in a very tough war. I support what the Strykers are doing in Iraq. And I hope and pray for the safe return of all soldiers.

WOW SARGE...WE ARE ALMOST THERE DEAR. OVER 2 YEARS WITHOUT YOU, ALL THE BIRTHDAYS, HOLIDAYS, ANNIVERSARIES MISSED. BUT YOU WERE ALWAYS THERE IN SPIRIT. I WALK BESIDE YOU IN IRAQ, I AM THERE. I SEE WHAT YOU SEE, I FEEL THE HEAT WITH YOU. I WEAR BOOTS ALL THE TIME SO I CAN "FEEL' THAT TOO, IF YOU FEEL LIKE CRAP, I FEEL LIKE CRAP IN MY BOOTS THAT HURT MY FEET LIKE YOURS HURT YOU. I GO WITHOUT THINGS BECAUSE YOU HAVE HAD TO, I CRY WHEN YOUR MEN FALL (AND WOMEN). I WANT TO CURL UP AND NEVER WAKE UP ANOTHER DAY WITHOUT YOU...THAT BED IS THE LONELIEST PLACE IN THE WORLD. I STARE AT THE KIDS FOR YOU TO MEMORIZE THEIR SILLY FACES SO I CAN SHARE THAT WITH YOU WHEN YOU COME HOME. I AM SO IN LOVE WITH YOU AND SO DAMN PROUD OF YOU IT DRIVES ME CRAZY SOMETIMES!! I DON'T CARE WHAT THE REST OF THE COUNTRY THINKS ABOUT THE MILITARY, I KNOW WHAT THIS ABSCENCE HAS DONE TO YOUR FAMILY, AND WE WILL WAIT HOWEVER LONG IT TAKES TO SEE THAT WONDERFUL SMILE OF YOURS AGAIN. YOU ARE THE BEST DADDY, HUSBAND, AND MY BEST FRIEND. WHEN YOU WALK THOSE STREETS AND YOU HAVE A MOMENT TO THINK ABOUT US, YOU KNOW THAT WE ARE ALWAYS WITH YOU. I HOPE AND PRAY THIS COUNTRY STANDS BEHIND YOU FOR AS LONG AS IT TAKES. TOJOURS PRET DARLING. TO THE MOON AND BACK DARREN, ANDREA.

To the 1/25 Strykers that are deploying to Irag. May God be with you and protect you. We are praying every day that God will watch and protect you and bring all of you home safe. I have two sons with the 1/25 Strykers. One is at Camp Freedom and one is at FOB Sykes. I am very proud of what they are doing. I am proud of all of young men and women over there.

You can run but you can't hide! Mom and Dad found this site and we're counting the seconds for you to come home. Stay safe, Stay well, may the white light of protection surround everyone of you.

May you all return home safe and sound. God bless.

TO ALL THE SOLDIERS:

I have written a few times in here, but it seems like I can never get my full point across--what you do everyday gives us security and freedom back home--there isn't a minute of the day that we are not supporting, missing, and thinking of all of you.
Peter--you are my number one soldier--come home to me safely--

Here is a poem I wrote about 9/11

In the bright September morning without warning to us all
A few thousand lives were shattered and we watched two buildings fall
And a billion souls felt empty, and the flags at half-mast fly
In the memory of the innocent which didn't have to die

We've lost brothers, sisters, cousins. We've lost family and friends
But we've made the choice not to forget their lives and tragic ends
Though we've had our share of troubles we have put them all aside
As a nation grieves we find ourselves defending them with pride

We're a nation of survivors, with one heart we share a tear
But we live to serve the memory, not giving in to fear.
Though they try to take security with the things they've done and said
All their acts of inhumanity bring unity instead.
So we stand here as a family. One heart, one soul, one voice.
We are challenged by this moment, and united here by choice.

TO all the soldiers:

I have written on this page a few times, but I never seem to get my point across. What you all do everyday gives us security and freedom back home--you are the bravest of the brave--there isn't a minute of the day that we aren't missing, supporting, praying, and loving you back home.
Peter--you are my number one soldier--I cannot wait to be an army wife--I can't wait to be your wife--come home to me safely babe--I LOVE YOU

I've never been in the military myself (having been blessed with a high lottery number back in the day...), but I have nothing but admiration for the manner in which all of our troops have conducted themselves during this war.

This enemy respects nothing but force of arms, and willingness to fight. He is underestimating you and your capacity to destroy. You are keeping us back here in the homeland safe and instilling fear into the heart of the enemy.

New Year greetings from Germany

Dear Soldiers

An eventfully year 2004 draws to a close.

Thank you for helping to make the world a better place for all humanity.
We appreciate all that you are doing for more freedom in our world.
Thank you for fighting against the terrorism.
We are very proud of you!

We are glad that the Americans have done so much good things for us Germans since the WWWII.
I remember me that my grandmother told me so often that our family was so glad that 1945 we received care packages from our Americans friends.

The Americans brought us freedom and they have helped us to build up our country again.
The Americans protected our life in the time as it was necessary.
Over the years between our both countries we have done bonds of friendships.

Why we not ought to give something return, if a friend needs us.
For us it is not important if – someone was for or against the war -.
It is important that you see that something is to do - and that you do it!

We are so glad that we have the great opportunity over Gen. Patton's Great Niece, Patti Patton-Bader (Soldiers Angels Foundation) and the Manager from Fisher House Landstuhl to support the wounded US troops here in Germany. They all have given so much for other people freedom.

We will wish you at home or on a very - unusually place –
a prosperous New Year 2005.

Very Respectfully

Wilhelmine Aufmkolk, Germany

Millions of Americans have served before you. They may be your dads, moms, aunts, uncles & grandparents. You who are now in the service of our country and carry the flag. Whatever you do and wherever you serve, just remember that everyone back home salutes you. You will all be veterans someday and you will be supporting the next generation of military men and women.
God bless everyone of you and your families. Veterans will tell you "There are no atheists in a fox hole".
The only atheists in the world are the insurgents. I hope our adviseries discover the real truth of God and lay down there weapons to return to the civilized world as men and Muslims.

My Son, Spc. Wm Vanderzille 1/24th Stryker Division, this is for you! I love you and miss you and pray for you every day!

Saw you in a dream last night
Standing in front of me
You were a beautiful sight
So close and yet not free
Not free to hold me in your arms
But you made it known to me
That you’re not in pain or harm
Just serving your country, you see.

Saw you in a dream last night
God’s light surrounding your soul
I asked if you were okay
You said “God leads me and keeps me whole”
Whole to serve this country
Whole to make you proud
I promise I’ll be home to you
I am protected by God’s shroud.

Saw you in a dream last night
Awakened by the tears on my cheek
Embracing the memory of our conversation
And the precious moments that we seek
Seek to keep our union
Our country. Our family. Our Love

Thank you for all you do each and every day and for most of all making me more aware of the sacrifices you are making each day. Life sometimes can be challenging but then I stop to think of what each day brings you and immediately begin to pray for you....may God always help you, guide you, and guard you...protecting you. The next time I burn the toast or get a flat tire or get stuck in traffic, I will think of you and whisper a prayer for you! Cheers from CANADA
I am Canadian born and raised. I operate a transport truck and travel between Edmonton, Alberta and northern Cal and southern Oregon usually once a week, usually on the I-5. I see the yellow ribbons on the bridge by Ft. Lewis every week. Sometimes it's difficult to keep dry eyes and not cause an accident. I think of all the honour and pain those ribbons represent. Honour for the role the soldiers play in righting a wrong. Pain for the heartache of separation from families and loved ones. It's heartbreaking to read some of the posts above, to sons and daughters, husbands, wifes, dads and moms. When I came across the pic and story of Maj. Bieger it did'nt surprise me at all that an American soldier was so caring and kind, and that made me wonder why I thought that way. After considering it for awhile I believe that after all the news I've read and story's I've seen on TV after these many months ,and believing from day one ,invading Iraq and removing Saddam was right, that I have come to accept that THAT is the kind of people you are!
YOU ARE THE BEST AMERICA HAS TO OFFER!
I recently, proudly, put American flag "SUPPORT YOUR TROOPS" decals on both sides of my Kenworth.
I particuarily like them to be seen in Canada! Even with the stars and stripes.

So in ending I want to say, Thank you for doing what is right, may God watch over you and keep you safe, and you people are THE BEST!

I LOVE YOU ALWAYS AND FOREVER.
yOUR WIFE,
MICHELLE TARUSAN

This message goes to all the soldiers in the Armed Services, take care and may God watch over you like he did for my son. He's home now and I pray everyday for the young soldiers in ARMED WAY,you are not forgotten, you are honored and I am happy and proud.Son Josh does not talk about anything in IRAQ to me except to his DAD,he says its too painful and I dont ask.I feel for every parent I've been there and it was very painful for us as parents to let our sons and daughters leave our side.I will continue to pray for all soldiers to bring them home to their familites to have dinner with them to laugh and just to look at them and say THANK YOU GOD.You will cherish this moment for as long as you live...

Sally - Take Care

Thank you from a 1st Stryker Brigade Soldiers' family. We are thankful indeed for your strength to go on through adversity, thankful for your sacrifices to protect what the people of your country find most dear, freedom and liberty. You are the face of this grateful nation, you do each and everyone of us proud. Remember most that you are in our thoughts, and that we pray for you every day, that you return safe and whole, as our son did in November 2004. Although our son is home we continue to watch over our soldiers in the 2nd Stryker Brigade and all those who will follow you. You are a huge part of this grateful family and always will be. Love, The Heydons from Sequim, Washington. HOOAH!

Ben (SPC Sherman),
God only knows how much I miss you. You have been gone 8 months. 4 more to go! We definatly have gone through some stuff since youve been gone. Four special men are now your Guardian Angels. Castro, Ayro, Creamean, and Seesan. They are the finest. Trust me, they have done a good job so far. But Ben, from loosing the people we've lost and also someone back home, I now know, life is not a guaranteed thing. So I need you to know, that I love you more than anything. You mean the world to me and I miss you so much. Please be safe and know that Im watching the same stars baby. I love you a whole world and a pint.
Love Forever and Always, Jenni

Thank you for all of your sacrifices in being over there fighting for Freedom. It's Memorial Day and we're thinking of all of you as we are everyday. I keep telling my three year old, Aidan, who the real hero's are! Good luck, guys!

Greg & Aidan Kelly - Newburyport, MA

NO, BUT I'LL BE BRIEF AND POLITE. I WOULD LIKE TO PURCHASE SOME 1-2 DOZEN OF THESE DECALS FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS. DO THIS SITE SUPPORTERS SELL THESE DECALS? IF NOT CAN YOU ADVISE A SOURCE? HOPEFULLY, ONE THAT WOULD BENEFIT THE MILITARY AND/OR FAMILIES?

RESPECTFULLY

DON S LYONS

HON. DISCHARGED USN 1955-1959

What is there to possibly say when thanking the most brave hearted men and women serving for our breath of freedom? To all men and women in Iraq, I owe you my own life for allowing me to be happy in the safety of my own environment. You all are truly the sparkle in my eye and I thank you for keeping me and my family, friends safe. -forever changed- Jill Morgan

From the mother of a 2-14 Cav soldier. To say thank you to all the Strykers seems to pale in comparison for the sacrifices you are making. To say the least you are very brave. J.J. There are so many people here in the states who pray for you, wish you well, and will be soooo glad when you are home safely. We are all sooo proud of you. Love you dearly. Momma

We were encouraged by Pres George W Bush's comments of his grateful heart for your presence in Iraq and Middle East. We know the facts could not be ignored again, we need you to stem the terriorists from making America another target. We love you all, Stryker Brigade, and will be in Ft. Lewis in September to welcome you home. Give my son, SPC Nathan Lensch a California hello from his family and friends. These letters are a small way to send our love and support. You all now have a part in history just as our WWII vets. They came home in the 1940's and built up America. God Bless You and for your future here at home. Love and take care of your selves. Come home.

Mom of a US Army Stryker Brigade

To All The Men And Women Who Cant Be Here With Their Families For The 4th Of July...We All Pray For Your Safe Return Home. We Love And Thank You For Your Bravery And Your Sacrifices. In My Thoughts And Prayers Daily..

Proud Army Wife,
Allyson Wentz

Dear Soldiers,
I want to tell you how greatful I am for your service to our Nation. My prayers are always with you! May God protect you and bring you safely back to the loving arms of your families.
Your in my thoughts this 4th of July and always.
Happy 4th of July and may God Bless each and every one of you.
A Stryker mom,
Linda

[just a 'letter from home' to share with all who wished they'd received one today]

Good morning Son,
It's 6am on the Fourth of July, I was up before 5am and sitting on the deck listening to the quiet of the woods and the birds singing as the sun came up. Dad mowed the lawn yesterday and it looked so green and lush because of all the rain we've had - not as beautiful as you keep yours at home in Ft. Lewis, but pretty nice. We are looking forward to the usual Bath Heritage Days parade, Art in the Park, the carnival and fireworks. I can't help wish that you, JoAnne and the children were here to enjoy the day with us all....but you and your team are putting your lives on the line to win peace and independence for another nation and to keep this nation safer, and so many of your friends, teachers, aquaintances and strangers send you and all the troops their thanks, wish you well and hope & pray that you stay safe 'til you're home again.
If keeping you in our thoughts could put a safety bubble around you - you know you wouldn't have a thing to worry about!
There are many differences of opinion on whether this war should continue with our soldiers in it, however there is never a lack of support for our soldiers who are there. You have 100% support from the people of the good ol' U.S of A.

As we watch the Phippsburg Elementary [sitting] Band go by later today, with the same music teacher who taught you drums, we'll remember and laugh at that first time 20 years ago when dad quickly ran to Rogers Harware before the start of the parade and built the safety trestle on the back of that first float to keep you and your classmates from falling off as it jerked to a the stop/start of those marching ahead, and I walked the parade at the back of the float - just to make sure none of you came to harm! [Wish I could do the same for your Stryker - now there's a thought to make you smile!]

Dad and I hold you in our hearts and thoughts always, we are very proud of the man you have become.
All our love,
mom

This message goes out to Michael, and to all the rest of you Stryker Studs over there....

I have been thinking about the significance of today & wanted to share some of those thoughts… I want to wish you ALL a happy Independence Day and tell you that I wish you could be here at home with your families to help celebrate. But instead, you’re working on helping the Iraqi people with their own new independence (from Sadaam’s reign) and helping them re-build their nation in a way that they want, with hope in their hearts and an eye on their own future… and so in addition to our country, today I celebrate YOU and all of you guys over there doing your best to bring something good to the Iraqi people through beanie-baby bombing (tossing toys to the children as you to by), sharing smiles...hope...compassion, maintaining security, training Iraqi military and security forces, building police stations and a zillion other things… The people back home support you, miss you, love you, and can't wait for your job to be done so you can come back home. Happy 4th of July!

To my son and his squad serving in Mosul, Iraq... and ALL the other soldiers that are serving our country... THANK YOU!... You have given up a year (or more) of your lives to serve our country... A year of family birthdays (including your own - and that was your 21st!)... Mother's Day, Father's Day... Christmas, Thanksgiving, birth of your 1st child... A lot of things have been missed... But most of all... We've missed YOU. When you ALL get home - just know that the 1st look you will see on our faces is love and great pride for all you have sacrificed ... STAY SAFE - ALL OF YOU and HURRY HOME to your loved ones... We need and love you and always will... Love, Mom.

My son is in Iraq also. I don't get to hear from him much, I know he does know that we all love him very much. He and all the others are fighting for the freedom that we celebrate today. I talk to his wife to see how he is doing. That is good for me. I know he needs to talk to his wife and Daughter. I will be so glad when he returns home.
I told him once to keep his head down. He told me he couldn't. He had to help protect the person to his left and the person to his right. Well Son, you are wonderful and a very loving person. We haven't seen him in person since Oct. I have talked to him via the internet and cam. Wow that is a wonderful thing we have.
To all families. Remember these Men and Women in your prayers everyday. The fight is worth fighting. Loving mother...........G

Mere words cannot express what's in my heart today. None of us can fully appreciate the courage you have and sacrifice you are making over there. I am in awe of each of you and my gratitude swells in my heart. It is because of heros like you that we can truly celebrate this day. Please know without you we can't stand proud and independent. Tonight as the fireworks go off I will be thinking of you all and counting my blessings. Thank you, I love you all!

Just a quick note to wish All Our Troops a Happy Thanksgiving and to let them know we wish they could all be home with their families. Thank you for what you are doing seems like such empty words but we do appreciate each and everyone of you! Especially to all those in the 562nd Engr Co...! We pray for you and your safe return. We miss you and can't wait 'til you ALL get home! God Bless. Love, Matt & Chris

As parents of a 1/24th Deuce Four soldier, we are so awesomely grateful and thankful to our Lord for protecting our son while he served with other brave and courageous ones in Iraq during their deployment. Although we know it will be difficult for those now serving their deployment, we extend our prayers to you to be safe & have very blessed Thanksgiving. Thank the Lord for the shield of protection and armor of God prayers are covering you all with. I wish and pray for a peace that transcends all understanding for your Families back home. We know what it is like and pray everyday for your soldiers.
I prayed Psalm 144 each day for my son while he was in Iraq and I continue to do that for all soldiers.

"1 Praise be to the LORD my Rock,
who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle.
2 He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples [a] under me.
7 Reach down your hand from on high;
deliver me and rescue me from the mighty waters, from the hands of foreigners
8 whose mouths are full of lies, whose right hands are deceitful. "

I ask these things in His name. Amen

Thanks for providing this reference. We'll link to your site.

We know that this is a hard time for you and we thank you and your families for your service and sacrifices. We pray for the safety of all our troops each day and can't wait until you are all home! Each and every one of you are heros! God Bless You All!!

I want to thank all of you personally but since that is not possible this will have to do. As an American we are proud that you have chosen to defend freedom all over the world and pray for your safety continuously. I talk to my grandson Barry, there with the Stryker brigade in Iraq almost every day. Thank God for computers or we would be crazy with worry. He loves his country and his family and tells us his new family (Stryker family) is people he loves and trusts more than anything. Thank you for helping keep him safe. God bless you all

Tho I don't have anyone that I know of in Iraq I do have friends whos childred are there.I'm so proud of all the men and women over ther. For they whole us all in there hands and we do them. For they are putting their lifes in danger for us. I wish it was were they could all come home to us and their familys. For they a making a pricely sacrifice for the America people.I apprecite each and ever one of them. I pray each and everyday for you all. That God will look after you and put his hands in front of all danger that you come face to. I'm not to good at trying to type what or how I realy feel you all cause each time I try I cry for you all and your familys. When I think of the price you pay for our fremdom and see those tha put down what you all are doing for us I can't help but to say well you could get down on your knees and thank God for them so we can be free in our country.

Love your friend
Mildred Long Bennett

I just want to say thank you to everyone who is actively supporting our country and our troops because they are the reason we have our freedom. I want to send a personal thanks to my husband. You are an incredibly strong-willed person whom I admire greatly. I pray for your safe return this summer. May God be with all our men and women overseas. I hope you all know there are a lot of people back here supporting you and praying for you everyday.

Gentlemen of the Cavalry (want to be..ha ha), I have kept abreast of your efforts through your website and the MINSTC-I website. I spent six months at Al Kasik in 2004/2005 and visited your base on a number of occasions as well as many visits to Tallafar....Well done from a Coalition Partner..Aust Army.

To My Son, and all of those with him from Fort Wainwright, I send my love and prayers at LEAST twice daily... when I go to bed and you are just starting your day... and when I stand up with all the seventh graders in my room each morning and say our "Pledge of Allegiance" followed by our "moment of silence"... I pray that God watches over all of you! It is with great pride that my car sports a decal on the front windshield stating "My son is serving in Iraq". You would be surprised at how many stop me and say who they have over there with you, or say, "Tell him thank you for me."
So, to all of you,"THANK YOU!" ...
And to Matthew... I say "I love you with ALL of my HEART, FOREVER AND FOR ALWAYS!"

I want to thank God for protecting our men/women of the 172nd of Fort Wainwright in Mousl, Iraq. I want to pray Psalm 91 over my husband and the other men/women driving over those dangerous highways' protecting our safety here in the Us. I asks the Lord to bring each and every one of those men/women home safetly to their love ones. In addition, to the ones we have lost over there, the comfort of the Lord over their families, so they can grieve a little better of the lost of their love ones. Keep them safe and bring the rest home... God bless every one of you..

I wanted to thank the troops for their countless and unrealized sacrifice. Everyday lost with a loved one cannot be measured and it does not go un-noticed-so, Thank you. I also wanted to post a thank you to all of the family members. All you do to support the troops-means the world to them. My husband is currently serving his second tour in Iraq and I know what the support means to them! Thank you!

Dear Friends & Family of the 172nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team: Thank you for your sacrifices and bravery. My prayers are with you. Never forget that in the end it's all about our Bill of Rights, our Constitution, and the preservation of our Democracy. Never give up, be brave, trust in a higher power and remember that one small voice against a mighty wind, deep in the heart of America, wishes you peace and many blessings!

To all of the 172nd Stryker soldiers: We support you completely in your mission to free and help protect the Iraqi people. I am so proud of you, my son and of all of you for your brave efforts. Stay safe and God bless you and keep you safe. Looking forward to the time you can come home.

God speed to all of our deployed soldiers. Especially 2/3 Infantry. You all remain in my prayers. Thank you for serving our country and us.

First time army mom. My sons brigade deployed to
Mosul in June 2006. Home base Ft Lewis Washington. I'd like to thank all the troops and
wish them a safe deployment. God Bless, my prayers are with you all.
Return soon and safe

BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO SACRIFICE FOR OTHERS

I would like to dedicate a new song I recently wrote with some friends to the troops and families in the Styker Brigade. This song entitled: I GO ON MISSING YOU was initially inspired by a past girlfriend but I felt a need to finish it in honor of the families whose loved ones where called away to duty after working construction for two summers on Fort Wainwright.

If you would like a copy of this song I would be happy to email it to you (if you have high speed) or send it to you via mail (NO Charge). Contact me at scottchochon@yahoo.com.

I can't tell you how much it means to all of the families that are here in the states...trying to get the real information, the news of what is going on with our sons, husbands, brothers, wives, sisters, etc...and to find it rite here. This is the most incredible site I have ever visited and continue to visit daily, 8 to 10 times a day. I constantly look for updates and/or news of the most coragous service men & women the United States and God have created. To all of you in Iraq, be it Mosul or Baghdad...God Bless and God Speed. My deepest sympathy and empathy goes out to all of the families who have lost someone. I don't know exactly what day my brother will be back in Alaska, but boy I wish I could be there for him. So, if you are someone who is going to be there, and you notice soldier without any family around, please, say hello or thank you or something. Maybe, just maybe, you'll lift the spirits of a soldier, such as my brother, who will not be seeing any family members until he takes leave. Thank you!

It hardly seems like enough to say thank you. You are all missing your families and special times that you should be part of. But you have chosen to defend the freedom that allows us to live and worship as we choose. PFC Matthew Strong, I am proud of the man you have become and proud that you are defending us. I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU MORE THAT WORDS CAN EXPRESS. Take care and keep your faith. I'm praying for you and your fellow soldiers constantly. Love, Mom

To the 562nd Engineer Company and the entire 172nd SBCT......

....Welcome Home and Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It seems so insignificant to say Welcome Home and Thank You……our feelings of gratitude, pride and love are so incredibly deep. There just doesn’t seem to be words that can come close to expressing them. We are honored to have been a part of welcoming you all home and share in your excitement. We too share your feelings of sorrow for those who made the ultimate sacrifice and are not coming home. We will forever be indebted to them and they will always be in our hearts.

To the family and friends who kept things together here at home…we also salute you! We are proud of how you forged through this deployment only to then be hit with the extension……you all showed such loyalty and grit…to say we are proud of you also seems insignificant, but please know that we are!!!!

To All the troops still in the sand.....you are in our thoughts and prayers also! We look forward to the day you are all home and reunited with your loved ones!!

You All Rock!!!!
Love, Matt & Chris

My brother D Oakes is in Iraq with a stryker brigade out of Ft. Lewis here in Washington state. I just want to let all you guys know that we are praying for you and we are so proud of you all. Lorraine, Kingman AZ

I would like to say thank you and god be with the soldiers in Iraq. My brother just sent this to my family and I could not agree more. "Hearing the news from home about the politicians constantly dogging us being here...and threatening to stop funds when we are gaining ground, and already hurting on funds...is just a big mess. They do not realize what they are doing to the morale and welfare of Soldiers. The only soldiers who I hear speaking about how we are here for nothing are ones who don't look into the eyes of these little children or can say they made someone's day better or safer. Being on the ground in the infantry you really do get to see progress and get to know the people and what they want and believe." I love you David and may God protect you and everyone else fighting for our beloved country.

Regulars, Battle on. take care and Godspeed.

To all the soldiers in the 4th Brigade, 2nd I.D SBCT 4 from Fort Lewis, ESPECIALLY MY WONDERFUL HUSBAND- CPT Chi Park! , Thank you!!! We are all so very proud of you back home. Keep your chins up, even though this situation remains bleak in your eyes.

My son Is Jason Scott Salazar, wolfpack/ghostrider, we are all so proud of all the men and I pray with the golden lite to be around them all each day, they work so hard, and people constantly ask about them. Thank you for all that you do and the freedom that your bravery provides. Never forget that we support you 100%. You are always in our thoughts and prayers. You are true heros. Love, A Stryker MOM

I would like to thank all the soldiers who risked their lives in Iraq to serve not only their own country, but also the Iraqi people - and, in effect, the whole world - for their great job.

In particular, since this site is dedicated to them, I recognize the contribution of the Stryker Brigade troops: You delivered an outstanding contribution to defeating radical moslems in Iraq.

And you did so against all odds, equipped with a grossly inferior all-too-lightly-armored, rubber-tired, easily-burning, always-get-stuck bus called Stryker, which is a disgrace to the US military and has caused the deaths of hundreds of US soldiers.

It's hard to imagine what your companies could have achieved if you had been given good tracked material instead of these shitty wheeled busses, like M113A3/A4 Gavins, M551 Sheridans or M8 Buford light tanks.

To all the Super Surge Strykers: we are so proud of you. Thanks for all of us. Don't forget your absentee ballots. Keep safe and come home in good health.

I thought I would share this beautiful Poem my daughter (10 at the time her uncle passed) wrote for SSG Fernando Santos who was killed by a roadside bomb in Bagdahd on August 2, 2007:

A Heroes Poem
Forever on earth peace shall gain. Love and hope all the same. Older than a rock she stands, The American way, freedom and grace. With history and bravery, a soldier I stand. I love my country forever. Today and tomorrow, I am a hero I never asked to be But I am proud to be To fight for my country, forever. Though I died I died free. In loving memory of Fernando Santos And all the heroes of America. Lakota Abbott

As the father-in-law of a 4-2 soldier, I want to thank God for his safe return and for all the men and women who served our country in the war. Thank you to each one who served and especially to the families those who have fallen in battle. God Bless.

Thank You to SSG Marion Flint and SPC Grant Dampier, for giving the ultimate sacrifice May 15th, 2006. I love you both more than you'll ever know.

And a special Thank You to the men in Bravo Co., 2nd PLT, 1-8 INF, 4th ID the VIOLATORS. Hope all is well over in Iraq. I miss you guys so fucking much!!!

~ Doc Mooney

A special thanks to strykers, 2-14-cav and pfc M. Farmer. Hope all is well there. I miss you very much. May God bless all of you, be safe and come home soon.

My mother wrote this in 1929. To me, it echoes with meaning, between the lines, of the plight of women in war, at war, and innocently by-standing:

I will hold Beauty as a shield against despair.
When my heart faints I will remember sights like these:
Bronze cypresses that framed a sapphire sea –
A desert mesa wrapped on sunset flame –
An aeroplane that raced the Overland
Above a trail marked with whitening bones -
A path thru a dim forest, hushed and sweet,
Lit by one amber beam that fell aslant –
Foam, silver laced, along a curving wave –
Sprawled golden hills with shadows like spilled wine –
Tall office buildings, rearing thru the night –
Sheer walls of Alabaster, pierced with gold –
And snowflakes falling on a lonely pine.

I will hold Beauty as a shield against despair.
When my heart faints I will remember sights like these:
The dawning wonder in a baby’s face –
The kindness in a weary wanton’s smile –
The gallant challenge of a cripple’s grin,
Seeing, forever, bodies that are straight.
The fighting courage in a Mother’s eyes
As she waits, braced, to meet birth’s ripping pain –
The shy adoring of a boy’s first love –
The eager fury of his first crusade
Against some wrong which he alone can right –
That tolerance that sometimes comes with age.

When my heart faints I will remember sights like these,
Holding their Beauty as a shield against despair -
For if I can see glory such as this
With my dim eyes, my undeveloped brain,
And if from other darkened, selfish lives
Such flashes of brave loveliness can come,
Then surely there is Something-- more than this
Sad maze of pain, bewilderment and fear,
And if there’s Something-- I can still hope on.

MSG GEORGE HUFF--- 76th brigade

For all you guys do.........Can't find enough to express our family THANKS.
Had the privledge of Training some of you While at Ft Lewis
God Bless

My son, Sgt. Ian McDowell, is a civilian now, and I write to just say thanks to those who trained him so well, kept him safe during his time in Mosul, and more importantly, fell in beside him after his wife's passing and the years following.
He is an amazing man and I am proud to have watched him become the best of my world.
I pray the heavens guide and protect all of you in the Stryker Brigades. You are the point of the dagger in our conflict with those who would deny us our liberty.
While I have grown long in the tooth, and my career in the Navy long behind me, I still walk beside you on the violent fields of our enemy.
For those early in your careers, perhaps now training for an upcoming deployment, I give you one piece of advise: Trust your superiors. They are, despite the yelling and seemingly cruel intentions, on your side.
Watch your six;
Ian's dad
p.s. The one other advise I will send, learned in my time during the first Gulf War was "...to trust in Allah, and tie up your camel." Think on it.
K

I really appreciate the work you guys do. My brother is in Irag right now. Take care and God Bless.

Troops,

Last weekend, my wife and I were on our way back home to Seattle from taking a trip to Bend, OR. As we were driving northbound on Highway 97 just out of Yakima, WA, we had the honor of convoying with a Stryker convoy.

I cannot tell you how much pride I felt watching you professional soldiers and such impressive equipment convoying on America's Interstates.

I served in the military for six years and spent time in the gulf theater during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

Thank you for your service!
Come home soon!

I just wanted to say thank you for everything you do!!! You deserve the appreciation of all of the citizens in the states. People don't realize that if it wasn't for you we wouldn't have the rights we do now. I was born and raised in the military as my dad was an E5 in the Air Force. He showed me how ignorant the average citizen is about what our military does for us. I hope all goes well with all of you and that you receive the thanks and appreciation that each one of you truely deserves. Thank you once again from the bottom of my heart!!!

I thank God for each and everyone of you. I pray that my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will keep each one safe and under his umberlla of safety. My Son, SSG Gene T. Sulton is on his 4th deployment. He is currently in Iraq in the 542nd Maintenance. His base station is in Fort Lewis, Washington.

I JUST WANTED TO SAY THANK'S TO ALL THE TROOPS. YOUR DOING A GREAT JOB AND A GREAT SERVICES TO & FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. THANKS. I HOPE TO SAY "WELCOME HOME- JOB WELL DONE" IN THE NEAR FUTURE.

THANKS; JIM DUFFY, VIETNAM VET, 1ST CAV. DIV.

Having read a report today in the London Times which named the Stryker Brigade - hence my finding this website - I'd just to say thank you (and to all other American forces). There are an awful lot of people here very grateful for your efforts and sacrifices - not just this war but all the others too.
Keep up the good work and never give in.

Mischelle Day in Ballard/Seattle, WA.

God Bless Our Troops and their families. Thank you so much for all you do!

A Grateful Veteran

My daughter is a cab driver in Fairbanks and is always updating me on "her" guys and gals there in the military. She watches over them while they are home and worries over them while they are overseas. I feel that they are all as much a part of my family because she makes them such. I pray for their safety and can't begin to express the pride and gratitude I have for all they do, both while on home soil or away. Without their duty and dedication we would not have the great nation that we have and the rights we all have because of them. God speed to all now in Iraq, may He keep them safe and sound, and for those whose time is up, may they know the peace and joy of going home to await their loved ones left behind. My own son is based out of Texas and serving in Afghanistan right now, so it is with much worry and prayer for ALL that each day goes by hoping that this will soon end, for all of us! Thank you for this site, to be able to express thanks and gratitude so they KNOW that what they do really is appreciated by the people and not only have the garbage that the newsmedia all spews out..... God Bless to all...

Love Mom. Say Hi to McGuiness for me!! Our thoughts and prayers are with you. STAY HYDRATED!!

Thank you, All of you, for all that you do each day. Your work and dedication are appreciated. Be strong and be safe. God bless you all.
