Stryker Photos

Mar-28-2004 » Filed Under: Photos & Videos

Yahoo! News has a few photos of the Stryker on fire (here, here and here). An updated news story indicated that the driver and commander both escaped without injury - the other soldiers from the vehicle were patrolling on foot.

Comments For "Stryker Photos":

Thank goodness the driver and squad leader got out OK from the looks of the fire it could have been bad. I'm assuming that it was an ICV Stryker that got hit with the RPG. Does anybody have any information on which unit it was attached too. We know that the last time that we talked to our son he said things were heating up considerably. These are the things that scare us the most. May they all stay safe. Dave and Charlotte

I have not heard yet and I agree. Amen no one got hurt. Gotta love those ugly cages. :)

This news messed me up today! Mike is doing drive duty right now. Was nice to find out all is well, have not heard yet which team it was. Mike just called yesterday, probably won't hear from him for another week.

Things are getting out of hand in Mosul, I pray every opportunity that those boys are safe.

My husband drives a striker... its hard to look at these pictures. I just thank the Lord for watching over them the way He does. My thoughts and prayers are with all of them and their families.

My son is a forward observer assigned to the Stryker Brigade Combat Team outside of Mosul, Iraq. Fortunately, I have been in very recent contact with him, courtesy of the internet cafe that is in operation over there. Frequent contact is a big nerve saver.

i hope i can answer any questions that you guys have. I am the VC for the stryker that got hit. VC stands for Vehicle commander. fist of all i'm assigned to 3rd BDE 2in. 1-23 B Co. it was a really scary event and i'm glad we wernt hurt. it was only me and my driver in the stryker at the time. our squad was walking infront of us, we were providing overwatch for them. all of a suddon we got hit. luckly i was sitting down in the stryker and not standing up in the VC hatch i might have got hurt. once i made sure we wernt hurt i told the driver to drive because i dident want to get hit again. we stopped and my squad leader told me to get out because the top was on fire. me and my driver tried to put the fire out but the fire extenguishers dident work. so we had to leave the stryker and thats when it burned to the ground. there was nothing that we could do but watch. thanks for all the concern and just pray for all the people over here it really helps. if you have any questions just ask.

When i try to see this picture is says document not found, can anyone send me this picture? e-mail sf1_team_leader_2@hotmail.com thanks a lot. FYI im a shop forman with the 1st brigade styrkers at lewis.

I sent you an email with different links.

hey to My bro in the Stryker Brigade Combat unit getting ready to head to iraq''' ill Be prayin for u to return hm safe

Hello. My brother-in-law is in Iraq. He is the driver for a Stryker. He called us about the 28th of April and told us a story similar to this, but the phone was choppy. His name is Dominic Olivas, and any information would be helpful, as we haven't heard from him, since that time. If this is, or is not the story associated with Dominic, please let me know (anybody), his family is somewhat worried. We pray for the troops and teach our children of the great advantages we have under a free rule. We teach them about the Iraqi children, and how Dominic is over there trying to obtain freedom to that country. God bless all of the troops, you are very much appreciated and respected.
