Free Calls to Louisiana

Mel wanted me to pass along some information for Stryker families located in the Shreveport and Bossier City areas of Louisiana. Apparently soldiers can call Barksdale Air Force base and they will be connected to a local phone number for free. Two fifteen-minute calls are allowed each week. More information is provided below.

Details:

1. Soldier's family must first call Debbie at 318-456-8400 to enroll in the program.

2. Then the Soldier must dial 318-456-1110 when he/she wants to call home.

3. Tell the operator at Barksdale they are calling for the "heart to part morale call".

4. The soldier will need to provide their DSN number to give to the base operator and tell them the local number they wish to contact.

5. They allow 2 fifteen minute phone calls per week.
