SOUTH RIVER — When Pvt. Scott Forster joined the U.S. Army at age 17, he saw military service as a means to finance college and move toward his dream of becoming a police officer.
Forster, now 19, didn’t imagine he would spend a year in South Korea before passing what has already been five months in Iraq.
"This war wasn’t going on when I joined," Forster explained to a group of fifth-graders at Corpus Christi School in South River recently, "but it’s worth it because you guys are safe and that makes me happy."
