Barabra sent us an email she received about an upcoming PBS Nova documentary featuring the Stryker Brigades (3-2 & 1-25). Provided below is an excerpt of the message. I'll try and remind everyone as the broadcast date approaches.
[A] television journalist with New York Times Television named Calvin Simms visited [Ft. Lewis] in DEC '03 and started filming part 1 of a news documentary on the Stryker and Army Transformation. His team then went to Iraq in January, linked up with 3/2 for about 8 days and filmed the second half of the story.
I received a call today from the producer who said that the documentary, titled "The Perfect War", will air May 4th in a NOVA special on PBS. The documentary is one hour in length and will explain in depth Army Transformation and NET Centric warfare in Afghanistan and Iraq. In the documentary, there will be extensive video and soldier interviews of 1/25 and 3/2 units and soldiers. From my conversation on the phone with the producer, it sounds as if this will be a positive news piece and it will get nation-wide coverage on PBS at time when we're aggressively trying to keep the SBCTs in the news.
Comments For "The Perfect War":
My PBS channel has "Battle Plan Under Fire", Episode #3110: The U.S. military uses high-tech weapons to fight terrorists and militias in Iraq.
Original Airdate: May 4, 2004.
Would this be the same Program?

I can only find "Battle Plan Under Fire" on NOVA's website, www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova, on May 4th at 8pm for my area as well. The description given there for "Battle Plan Under Fire" does not mention anything about 3-2, 1-25, soldier interviews or Calvin Simms' work in Iraq. It does not seem to be the same program. Can you provide an update on the program scheduling for "The Perfect War"?
Perhaps the date has been changed...

I'm pretty sure it's the same program. It's possible they just changed the name.
