Fox news channel just showed some footage of the Strykers in Mosul. There was an RPG attack on four armored vehicles with no injuries, according to the report. They did not have a lot of information but did say one vehicle was hit but appeared to be not affected. I will keep checking the web for additional information and post it here when available.

thanks Mike. I am on pins and needles. Hopefully the soldiers and the vehicle survived the hit.
I have not seen anything additional on the story. They did say that no injuries were reported so that is a good thing. I sure do love those UGLY cages on those vehicles. ;-)
Yes sir me too!!! I remember I saw a picture of one with it back in the summer on CNN. Asked my son what the heck was it for??? Sure changes the way the look.Glad they put them on there until they can get the new armor on them!!!
My son is an infantryman in B/5/20 IN. He was one of those working late nights in Kuwait to install that 'birdcage' armor. It looks like all his hard work and smashed fingers is saving lives.
Hey MAJ Tribble, my son, 1-14CAV, got that duty also. 12 on, 12 off, made for long days and nights. Little did he know that a few months after jumping out of planes that he would be turning wrenches. ;-) I sure am glad they did it though, more protection is a good thing. Take care and thank your son for me when you next talk. God bless and take care.
Yes- they are ugly as sin, and make the vehicles huge- but they work great. Trust me- I'm here and living it. One of our vehicles got hit with nothing more than some scratches to show for it.

My son says the cages really work against the RPG's. I'm sure he and the rest of the boys are fine.
