The blurb on the right side of that page saying mail service to Iraq has been suspended only applies to civilian mail. It means that if you have a penpal in Baghdad, your letter will not be delivered. Military mail is going through...at least that's what I think it means.
My hubby just sent me an email requesting shower gel. He prefers it over soap (yeah I think I got him spoiled!). But I guess at least that means he has access to a shower. He's a cook, so maybe they like to keep the folks who handle the food relatively clean!

I was just at the Defend America site (thru the USPS link) I found a photo essay on the Stryker brigade, from this past week, not sure if there ahve been links to it or not. Pictures are good, maybe someone will spot a loved one!
I didn't know if everyone already knows that you can get mailing supplies through the post office website free. They are the priority mail boxes, tape, etc. Its free and they ship to your doorstep.
The website is http://shop.usps.com/cgi-bin/vsbv/postal_store_non_ssl/home.jsp?appName=SSOL
Cannoneer, Thanks, this link is a keeper. I sent an upgraded version of the Gerber 600 and the tool kit that attaches along with a Navy Seal Knife (for a Ranger qualified guy!) and he loves it. Annie
I talked to my son today. He said he will not be getting any mail for a couple of weeks as his camp is moving to another location and they are not going to deliver until they are set up again. He was told this yesterday I think. I do not think this applies to the whole brigade..just where he is.
Comments For "Care Packages":
Yhe USPS site has not been properly updated. We know from "The Arrowhead" that mail and packages are getting through.
