My name is [name redacted to please the "loose lips sink ships" nazis] (CHS Class of '91) and I am an American soldier serving in Iraq. I read the online edition of your paper from time to time. I am stationed at [post redacted to please the "loose lips sink ships" nazis] I have been deployed to Iraq since November and I am expecting to be here for at least a year. I serve as a platoon leader with the [unit redacted to please the "loose lips sink ships" nazis]
We are the Stryker Brigade that you have probably heard about in the news. My mother, [name redacted to please the "loose lips sink ships" nazis], still lives in Clinton. I left in 1991 after high school to attend Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, where I earned a BFA in theater in 1995. I enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1999, reaching the rank of sergeant prior to my attending the U.S. Army Officer Candidate School and earning a commission in the Signal Corps.
I am the first commissioned officer in my family. My wife, [name redacted to please the "loose lips sink ships" nazis], and 1-year-old son, [name redacted to please the "loose lips sink ships" nazis], are staying at [post redacted to please the "loose lips sink ships" nazis], while I am deployed. [name redacted to please the "loose lips sink ships" nazis] and I will be married seven years this February.
I guess I am writing to you because I would like people to know that the troops over here aren't a faceless, nameless mass. We are your brothers and sisters and sons and daughters. I guess I would like the people from back home to know that the former drum major of the high school band and actor is now a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. What a road we travel in life! Anyway, our morale is good and I just want to say hi and may this conflict end and these brave Americans return to their homes all the richer for having tasted the true meaning of what freedom truly is. I also want to say "Hi, Mom. I love you." Sincerely...
[name redacted to please the "loose lips sink ships" nazis],
Second Lieutenant
U.S. Army Signal Corps

I think if it is information derived from a website, it is fair game.
I recommend that people commenting here not identify their Stryker soldier by name. That information can be exchanged in email.
